For £80 with breakfast included, friendly staff and good location this was ideal for our needs. Property was interesting and characterful. Plenty of original features, which we liked. Breakfast room was lovely and sunny. Breakfast okay. Room was really nice in many ways. Bed clean and comfortable.

We were delighted to find Guestling House! The owners are so friendly - as are the chickens and ducks that roam free range around the site during the day. Altogether it was a charming place in a lovely setting, overlooking lots of land for their vineyard.
A taxi from the Fairlight end of Hastings was £10 after midnight and there was ample free parking on-site - with the number of rooms it would never be full.
There was a honesty box for slices of cake and flapjack to help yourself to, and a variety of other items for sale, including fizz and cider that appeared to be produced on site.
Rooms were comfortable and well-equipped - 7 rooms in total. Some have a dedicated separate bathroom rather than an en suite, but these were adjacent to/opposite the bedroom, so easy to access and maintain your privacy.
Although the website said no breakfast, there was an option of a complimentary breakfast basket to be left outside your door at 7am. This contained fresh milk, apple juice (presumably home-made), cafetiere (for you to make when you are ready) savoury and sweet pastries, and fruit. This could be eaten in your room or outside on the decked area overlooking the garden.
There was a very comfortable communal sitting room with a large TV and ample seating - you could book out the whole place and use this for e.g. family gathering.
The cost was also great value.
On Hastings Seafront, this stylish hotel is situated next to the White Rock Theatre. It features a lively cafe-bar, a sun terrace, 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi access.
Astral Lodge is situated in the centre of the historic coastal town of Hastings, directly opposite the beach.

Tasty breakfast with good fruit choices. Decent evening meal options but on the only night that we ate there no burgers left. Nice comfortable room and decent gardens outside.

Very warm welcome from both of the managers with traditional afternoon tea in a cosy historic lounge. Room was very clean and has all what needed. Both of the managers went extra mile by prepared takeout breakfast boxes as they don’t normally do. Nice dining area. Food was very nice and exceptionally fresh. Plenty of parking spots.

Guestling Hall was quiet even though near the main road to Rye. Great if you have a car. For dinner the hotel recommended The Three Oaks. The food was excellent with massive portions.
Not impressed with Hastings.

Nice place for a weekend. Very clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Good breakfast. The outside areas need a bit of care and attention. The American breakfast doesn’t work and it’s time to put the heating on!

My trip was to meet up with friends who lived near the hotel. I love Hastings and the sea front but it was pouring on my visit. The hotel food if lovely and worth the money. I drove to Hastings so not sure of how easy it is to get around.
I found my navigation system worked fine and rerouted me on the easy way to get around the town.
