The location of the village on the loch is stunning and the castle a must do experience. The village offers a good choice of places the stay, eat and drink. Good cafe in the wooden mill shop.
The George Hotel on Main Street offers excellent dining and the bar next door is very friendly.
Don’t miss a walk down the quay to see the famous Vital Spark Clyde puffer and wander down the interesting loch side back streets.

Inveraray is principally a lovely place, with lots of possibilities for long walks, a very pretty castle and lovely views over the loch. Unfortunately, the choice of restaurants and pubs is relatively limited. The few restaurants that are there were fully booked, and for some reason in the pub there was not much to do, even on a Bank Hoiday Saturday evening.... Where does everybody go ???

Inveraray is an ideal stop along any West coast journey..200 year old history, water front, tourist attractions, restaurants, pubs, and quaint accommodation. Some hotels can be over priced as can some restaurants.. be circumspect as there are value for money smaller venues. As for the castle..a walk around the outside maybe sufficient satisfaction as again the price for a whole family is on the steep side.

Inveraray is a very small town so perfect for a weekend, or for a couple of nights when touring. Lots of nice independent shops which we like to support when we are visiting. Special mention to Campbells coffee which we also have delivered at home. The George Beer Garden is excellent during the summer for Burgers and drinks, and loving the addition of Ocho, wish they would start up their supper club nights again as the food is next level. Its by far the nicest lunch place in Inveraray.
En Route we love visiting the Tree Shop Garden Centre on Loch Fyne. Excellent selection of home baking, great quality, along with great toasties and sandwiches, a bit nicer than your usual cafe fayre. The shop is also lovely for nick nacks and gifts.

A wee bit touristy, but as an old Scotland hands we get a bit too jaded at times. However, apart from the usual tartany gift shops, the little cafe on the pier does the best cheese and onion pasty I’ve tasted in years ! A couple of shops selling hunting gear which will ensure you look the part in the moors and what looked like a decent pub, but was really busy. So all in all, a very pleasant pit stop. They are raising money to refurbish the pier.. ..however, I’m sure the Duke of Argyll could find some loose change lying around to finish the job..surely😉For Para Handy fans, yes, it is the real Vital Spark!

Inveraray is a beautiful historic town, surrounded by stunning Scottish countryside. The Castle and the Jail are a must if you love history.
Best places to eat are The George pub or the Samphire seafood restaurant, but you need to book in advance. Loch Fyne Oyster bar is also fantastic but that’s about 8 miles away.
The George hotel was a lovely old historical hotel in the middle of Main Street Inveraray. Our room was clean, large and warm with comfortable bed and our stay included a full cooked breakfast which was delicious. We ate dinner at the George and could not fault the meal - salmon, mussels, clams in a spicy seafood broth with book chop and a platter of trout pate, caper berries, salmon, prawns, scallops. Absolutely fantastic! Staff at check in and leaving along with all restaurant staff were fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Rudha-na-Craige is an exceptionally great place to stay. It is in the most wonderful position on Loch Fyne and the views are stunning. The whole building is presented so so well with great furnishings and great level of detail to all fittings . Cleanliness and COVID 19 requirements exemplary. Breakfast very tasty with a great range to choose from. Easy access to Inveraray. Hosts very friendly, helpful and sincere.
I loved the location, the grounds, the kitchen, and the staff was pleasant. The location had outdoor tables to watch the birds. The location was excellent whether traveling north or south or such; or exploring the local hikes, pubs, or castles. The kitchen was excellently stocked with pans, bowls, storage facilities, utensils, etc. The staff was attentive, pleasant, helpful, and hardworking.
The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The ambience was really good. The location is in the main street of Inveraray but that didn’t bother us. The restaurant downstairs serves breakfast and dinner. Inveraray itself is a lovely place to visit (see the prison and the nice little shops). We had a lovely time at the Brambles of Inveraray.
Sue and John were excellent hosts. A very comfortable nights stay homemade cakes and tea when we arrived and an excellent breakfast the next morning with lots of choice. Area quiet, beds comfy and shower powerful. Only drawback had to go into Inveraray for evening meal. Highly recommend the George Hotel. Would definitely stay there again.
We loved everything about our stay. Right in the heart of town. Our room was fantastic and the bed super comfy. The staff were wonderful. We ate in the restaurant for dinner; the food was great, same for breakfast. Hot food cooked to order. Would highly recommend this Hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Absolutely superb apartment. It was cosy, spotless and right in the centre of the small town, near the hotels, restaurants and shops. The owners were extremely helpful e.g
with advice on the best places to eat. We thoroughly recommend it to anyone going to Inveraray.
The staff was so great, helping with a gluten free person. The room was terrific and big, breakfast was great. Lovely glassed in gathering places. The buildings are rock and old Scottish look and feel. Invarery i.s charming and close with the castle nearby
Right in the heart of the town, everything walkable including the market and the castle. Perfect size for 2 people. We took advantage of the discount at the Jail attraction which gave us a different view of the accommodations (the back side!)
Our room was in the attic and had the most comfortable bed we've ever stayed in. The shower was excellent, the breakfast was lovely and the couple who run the hotel were very helpful.
I came to Inveraray for the Bluebell Festival at the George. The apartment was lovely comfortable and clean a perfect base for my visit to this beautiful little Scottish Town.
Only stayed 1 night. Place was comfortable. And good breakfast. Located perfectly for Inveraray exploring. Hostess could have been more welcoming and friendly.
Good, comfy accommodation- menu a wee bit limited. For food, the George is excellent. Limited choice though. Samphire restaurant tantalising, but fully booked!
The location beside Loch Fyne was amazing and only a short walk into the town. The hotel had an old world charm with modern conveniences. Staff were lovely.
