The Coledale Inn, hotel in Lorton

Just 2 miles from Keswick, The Coledale is a 19th-century country inn with 2 traditional bars and elegant rooms.

Able to park in the hotel's own car park. Had a room in the annexe but that wasn't an issue. Room was spotless and bed was comfy, all you would expect from bed and breakfast. Only there for one night but would certainly book again or recommend it.

Lyzzick Hall Hotel, hotel in Lorton

Situated on the beautiful lower slopes of Skiddaw, Lyzzick Hall Hotel offers impressive mountain views and an on-site restaurant with extensive wine cellar.

Set in a beautiful location, overlooking amazing countryside. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Although we only had two nights at the hotel, we felt that we had formed friendships with the staff. The food was exceptional! We look forward to returning.

Lorton valley isn’t that well known so not over populated by tourists. Retains authenticity of the region with great local places to eat and an abundance of outdoor experiences which cost nothing but give huge rewards in terms of achievement and mindfulness
