The location couldn't be better -- it was in the middle of the pedestrian centre of Stafford. Also, the staff was great: they made us feel welcome, and were exceedingly helpful when we needed transport.

An excellent hotel in a very convenient place, close to the M6. It is amazing internally, very up-to-date and comfortable. The restaurant is good, a small bar, a wedding was underway whilst I was there but it caused no inconvenience at all, The Moat House is large enough to handle them without swamping the facilities or creating too much noise. I will use them again.

The hotel in general was very good and on a par with the mid budget chain hotels such as Holiday Inn and Best Western but had the feel of a small independent hotel. The room was very tidy and clean, as was the bathroom which was only let down by not having a toilet roll holder and having to dislocate my shoulder to reach the toilet roll which was situated behind me when sitting.
The bar area was also very clean and cosy but very well stocked with a wide range of draught and bottled drinks alike.
For me breakfast was a little disappointing though. The quality of the food was very good but there was not enough of it. I like to get a good breakfast inside me when staying hotels that will get me through the day but only received 1 sausage and 1 egg where a couple at least is the norm. In addition, toast had to be requested, which, in itself is not a bad thing, it does make you a little self conscious that you are being overly greedy.
Overall though i must say i was very impressed with the hotel and would certainly consider staying in the future.
The Holiday Inn Birmingham North - Cannock is a state-of-the-art hotel with contemporary rooms, a free gym and extensive business facilities, close to the M6.
Great village/small town. Lots to do what with pubs and great little shops around including the outdoor Market on a Wednesday and Saturday.
The train station is within walking distance and some lovely walks by the canal and river penk nearby.

Lovely town with great pubs and places to eat serving qreat food. Great walks along the canal. Great place to break the journey and only 5 mins off the M6. Peaceful and quiet town. Can walk round the town and canal in an hour. The Boat Inn is a great place to eat as is the Littleton Arms.

The best thing about our stay in Penkridge was the walk into the village for something to eat, we went to the Longridge Inn which was excellent. As already stated on arrival at the Hatherton Hotel we thought we had arrived at the wrong place because it looked completely derilict and not as shown on the Booking doc com website the picture was obviously the one that had been taken when the hotel was thriving.

Hotel was not really in walking distance, we drove to go out for tea, tried to ring a couple of pubs however no answer apart from the boat house lovely pub, staff were friendly, did get a but noisy outside as the drinks were flowing. Near to our hotel was the market which is massive and have anything you are really looking for.

Great stopover in a very pleasant town.
Great stopover in a very pleasant town. Lovely walks around if travelling with pet and hotel itself very pet friendly. Nice touches like fresh milk left in morning at room door and welcome box of handmade biscotti. Use all local produce in restaurant.
The location was great for visiting Cannock Chase Forest. The hotel is located in beautiful surroundings with gorgeous views. Our room was clean and so was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast and dinner were AMAZING. The staff were very friendly and efficient.
Lovely hotel, needs some tlc generally, but very dog friendly and exceptionally nice staff, has a good car park. The room was big and very clean. Windows open, has central heating, was warm and comfortable. Can walk to the shops & takeaways.
The bedroom met all our needs. No Meals provided.
It looks as if the Hotel has been very nice in the past, everything now very basic, just one man on duty all evening and two cleaners in the morning.
2nd stay here, great value, decent food and the gym is top notch, the best thing about this hotel though is the staff, on both visits they have been friendly & welcoming and they are always helpful.
The reception lady was very helpful and friendly. As their was no catering facilities I had a takeaway delivered to the hotel and it was lovely. The hotel provided a plate and cutlery.
The hotel is nicely located, very close to the town centre but the feel of the place is that it is sited out in the country. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel staff were excellent. Polite and very friendly. Faculties were excellent and what was expecting. Rooms and hotel very clean. Will stay again if in the area
Nothing, the noise from inside the hotel was appalling. The second night a nearby pub had karaoke blaring until 1.30. Hotel looks as though it should be closed down.
