We were walking the Cotswold Way and the Compass Inn was on the Route. The staff were brilliant so friendly and accommodating and the breakfast and evening meals had a great choice and were lovely, all served in beautiful spaces. We had upgraded our room to an executive one and we did have a large room with two beds joined together, one side was very comfortable, the other not so. The room like the hotel was a little run down and dated, but for what we wanted was ok.

We were walking the Cotswold Way and the Swan was right on the Route. The Room was beautiful it was very well decorated very airy. The bathroom and shower were brilliant and it was such a nice Space. The evening meal was lovely and the service was ok. There was one lady who was a bit grumpy and sharpe, but to be fair, it did look like they were a little short staffed.

Only stayed one night enroute to Devon. An ideal stop over; warm welcome, lovely room, comfortable lounge and bar for pre dinner drink. Food was excellent, could be eaten in the bar or in the restaurant. Reasonably priced wine.
Breakfast choices, no buffet. Would definitely stay again.

The Bodkin Hotel is a friendly, 17th-century family-run coaching inn with lots of history. We had the Anna Sewell room, which is spacious and at the back of the building overlooking the garden; this room has an excellent walk-in shower. The breakfast/dining room has plenty of space between the tables and a separate cosy sitting area. The cooked breakfast has many choices, and the hotel staff is open to suggestions. The hotel has a particular bar area and off-street parking area.
Charming roadside hotel with an interesting history. The hosts were very attentive. It's a small-scale hotel, and had a great feeling-at-home vibe. Both the dinner (we ordered it once in the two nights we stayed) and breakfast options were quite good.
Great value for money. We slept really well. The hosts were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our evening meal was exceptional. The steak was the nicest I have ever had. I would definitely recommend the hotel.
Olde worlde hotel with plenty of character.
