The hotel was on a beautiful spot. The hotel itself was also beautiful. Our room was superb. Nicely decorated, modern. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was really friendly, helpful. We really enjoyed that the staff had time to talk to us about whi we were and about our holiday, made as feel welcomed. The meals were exceptional, plenry of choices and very delicious. The Devil 's Bridge, that we wanted to visit was right at the hotel. Beautiful. Beast location, service and over all best quality. We would highly recommend.

We've just returned from a simply magical three night stay in one of the most breathtaking places imaginable. Our Yurt was nestled in woodland, next to two small lakes, on the top of a mountain, where the only sound you could hear was the birds in the trees, and neighbouring animals in the fields surrounding us. Our host, Fran, who was extremely warm and welcoming, and Diego, the four legged bundle of joy, greeted us on arrival and showed us to our Yurt, making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The outdoor kitchen was well stocked with all you could ask for, the shower was hot, with all natural cosmetics provided, and the log burner gave that added warmth and comfort for the evenings. Perfect for warming our bones back up after a quick swim in the lake. Thanks, Fran. We will certainly be making the trip over again soon, hopefully for one of the retreats.

The breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble
Small village nestled in a valley. Bus stop on main road.
Small village nestled in a valley. Bus stop on main road. Cambrian Way passes through village with access to the beautiful Pumlumon Fach and Fawr with some great views towards Nant y Moch reservoir and beyond in a clear day.
A 5km walk away via Banc Creignant Mawr woods is the Nant y Arian visitor centre and feeding site for Red Kites well worth a visit (2pm winter, 3pm summer feeding times). Local pub The George Barrow does very good meals and is run by lovely and friendly people.
The Devil's Bridge is approximately 10km hike over Cambrian Way or a short drive away.

11 miles from Aberystwyth which is pretty well a straight run so staying here was an excellent base. we priced up hotels in Aberystwyth and not only were they more expensive but the reviews were quite poor. very happy that we stayed in Ponterwyd.
The hotel was homely, the food was fantastic, and the staff were very accommodating. This was a great venue whilst we spent a couple of days at the Swet Lamb Adventure Rally Complex. They allowed us to keep our motorcycles in their locked garage overnight. Would definitely stay there again.
Everything. Very friendy owners who looked after us like we were family. Amazing location with supberb views. Comfortable beds slept so well. Breakfast was awesome. I have stayed in many hotels and b and bs around the world and this is up there as one of the best.
Nice clean hotel on a convenient location on A44. Perfect for going to Nant-y-Moch or Devil's Bridge. Very welcoming hosts, good dinner and breakfast. I noticed a nice outdoor space for sunnier days and a comfy lounge for during the day.
I loved the welcome and they had space in the garage for motorcycles which was really good. 100% recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning next year. Massive well done to all the team that run the place 👏 👍
The hotel managed to accommodate us for evening meals even though we were quite late and also offered breakfast boxes when we found out we had to leave each day before breakfast.
The Owners were very friendly and helpful and the Hotel was "safe" and spotless. Both the evening meal and the breakfast next morning were excellent. I would certainly return,
Owners of hotel very friendly, put motorbikes in locked garage for us. Made up our coffee flasks in morning to take away with us. Genuine lovely people.
