We didn’t have dinner unfortunately but breakfast was delicious!
The little touches were lovely… old fashioned shot drink, fresh shortbread and chocolates.

A picturesque location ,set in a rolling agricultural landscape. Most suited to couples of any age though small children would enjoy the beach.Sadly there isn't much available in the evening as regards dining options. It is a six mile journey to Tain ,with only a handful of options there.

Portmahomack is a lovely seaside fishing village that is quiet ( a great place to escape the busy town). The weather was sunny and warm which made the stay enjoyable. Big sky, lovely sandy beach and coastal walks and slow pace of life was really welcome.

Accommodation is limited with only one Hotel - the rest being either holiday lets and caravans.
Eating out is very limited with 1 x Hotel and 1x Restaurant (need to book well in advance).
Would we stay again - absolutely :)

it was ideal for our needs as we had a lunch out in tain and didn t want to travel back home. it was a lovely relaxing area with the seafront , we had a pet and a baby so just chilled out. due to covid we are all stuck inside for such a long time. so to get away was ideal for us. we enjoyed the lounge to relax and had a wee mini fridge -- we could choose some chilled drinks. carol was a good host.

a very peaceful relaxing location, lovely views, good walks along the coastline, easy access to local town 9 miles away with all essential amenities. Very helpful to have a village shop and pub. The restaurant is too expensive though.

Very friendly small village - real sense of lively community spirit. Lovely coastal scenery and child-friendly beach - sandy with rock pools and a small harbour. Plenty of walks and a very good small museum. Only one small shop but it's open long hours and sells all you're likely to need. A very happy and lively community cafe, a couple of good restaurants, and a lively hotel (Castle Inn) selling good food along with cheerful banter.
