Loved the surrounding area (with the alpacas). The room & bed were both super comfortable to stay in. Really enjoyed all the little touches in the decor and the services provided (cake in the afternoon, breakfast was amazing, great recommendations of nearby restaurant, the mini bar had tons of options). Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very close to the deepest lake in England - would definitely come back and stay here!
With stunning views of the surrounding fells, The award-winning Strands Inn, Screes Inn & Strands Brewery all sit in the heart of Wasdale Valley.

Basic and a bit tired but was pleasant and as expected for what we paid.
Beautiful location with lots of history within walking...
Beautiful location with lots of history within walking distance. The ratty train was also a lot of fun and took us to Eskdale where you can climb up to see a waterfall.
The Inn at Ravenglass had amazing food and we will definitely be going again!

But the staff is not helpful I traveled 2 hours from Yorkshire and the staff told me I can’t check in before 3 and I wait for my room nearly 3 hours just sitting on the chair and I booked 2 rooms me and my friends but they gave me 2 rooms in two different buildings I request them just manage our rooms to near each other but they say they can’t which make us very very sad 😭

Friendly people, great parking facilities. Plenty of local attractions despite being a small quiet and peaceful place.
And if you fancy a trip back in time, please visit the local post office, had to take photos.
Railway is exceptional, had a great train ride with a first class cream tea.
Felt relaxed and calm throughout the stay.

We loved walking round and seeing the steam trains.
We loved walking round and seeing the steam trains. The local shop/post office seemed a bit odd. There were papers all over the place and the owner was willing to sell us out of date orange juice. Honestly felt like we had just walked into an old man's living room. Felt very uncomfortable. Had to travel quite a way to get food. But such a beautiful area! Would definitely go back. A definite for train lovers!

A great place for a relaxing break.
A great place for a relaxing break. Lovely to look out over the river estuaries at high or low tide and listen to the curlews and oyster catchers. Not a traditional seaside location, but interesting, with things to do within walking distance or a short drive. Furthest place we went was Wastwater - beautiful scenery and good place for wild swimming, paddling or kayaking. Ravenglass has beautiful sunsets and is so quiet!! Nice to get away from busy, commercial areas
Having access to community dining, laundry and lounge was convenient and enjoyable. While the location of Ravenglass was a little isolated with no towns of note and absence of amenities the actual Muncaster Castle made up for it. The gardens were an absolute delight - even in the rain with very damp ground. It was one of the very few countryside or garden areas we heard birdlife. The bird shows were fabulous presented by friendly and knowledgeable staff.
We absolutely love Muncaster Castle, it is perfect for a family break. So much to do and see do inside the grounds, but also outside the castle grounds too. The Pennington Hotel is great for food and the Esdale Railway is a fun ride. Also the beach at Ravenglass is so peaceful and great for kids to have a play. This was our second stay at Muncaster Castle and can't wait to go back!
A lovely small and friendly hotel in the quaint village of Ravenglass.
The staff were so friendly and the customer service is excellent.
All covid measures in place and adhered to.
Food and drink is exceptional with a good variety on the menu. Breakfast is great too with different options from cereals to cooked Cumbrian option.
Fully recommend and we would stay again.
It was perfect in terms of space, and was in a wonderful quiet spot. The views are so pretty in the morning and at sunset.
The staff at the hotel that helped us were absolutely exceptional. Kind, helpful and happy! We had our toddler with us and they made sure we had a cot bed for her and even brought us a high chair.
We will very happily visit again.
The room was clean and modern, and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and accommodating. We arrived late the first night after a long international flight, and they worked with us to make sure we could get dinner at the Pennington Hotel, which was so appreciated after 24 hours of travel and not much in the way of a proper meal.
Stunning views. Perfect for watching the sunset or sunrise if you're up early enough.
The room was huge - we said they could have two rooms in the space.
The food (from the Hotel a few doors down) was superb and comfy sofas in the bar area were very comfortable.
Food & drink prices were reasonable for 'Hotel' prices.
It was a nice roomy suite. With a great view of the estuary. There is a pub downstairs which does food or the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk offering another option. (they provide take outs on request). It is situated a short walk from the Ravenglass railway Station which was perfect for us.
great staff, very helpful on phone before we arrived, very friendly on arrival, Nothing too much trouble, Dean was exceptional. The food really was amazing, so was the service. very warm feel to the hotel, I chose it cos it was opposite the estuary n very scenic, n 15 min drive from scafell pike.
+ Sizes of all the rooms was good.
+ Beds and sofas were very comfortable.
+ The view from the front of the house was incredible and there were a couple picnic tables outside as well.
+ The staff at the hotel were really nice and helpful when we collected/dropped off the keys
Location perfect in the heart of Ravenglass, very friendly, knowledgable & approachable hosts, well equipped log cabin & v nicely laid out / furnished interior. Off-street parking adjacent to log cabin & it felt very private. Would definitely stay there again.
Once we found the hotel, picking up the keys were easy. Postcode kind of stops before the hotel, so a little confusing. So just keep going, hotel entrance opposite estuary, not a side road. Herbert house was very picturesque, Knotts View has a side entrance.
Lovely dog friendly hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, great bar, great food, free parking. Absolutely fantastic location, our room had the most incredible sea view.
