The White Horse Hotel, Romsey, Hampshire, hotel in Romsey

In the heart of the market town of Romsey The White Horse is just a few metres from Romsey Abbey. This 14th-century boutique hotel offers a brasserie and bright, elegant rooms.

Wow!! The White Horse was just lovely from stepping through the doors to the very end of our stay. What a fabulous place to stay filled with history. Very friendly staff from start to end, nothing was to much trouble for them. Our room was great with beautiful furnishings, even down to the little duck in the bathroom. It was the small touches which made it in the room. Books, playing cards, really great coffee machine with real great coffee, something you always want when you get in. And the best breakfast made to order to your liking when you go down. Well done!!

We stayed only 1 night as we were attending a music event at The Plaza Theatre. We visited the Memorial Park and Abbey before looking around a some of the independent shops. The bar food was delicious in The White Horse and we had an excellent coffee and a panini in The Exchange.

A very quaint english market town. Historic pubs, excellent shopping options. Daily rotation of vendors in the market square selling everything from plants, vinyl records, clothes to fine baked goods and olives. Beautiful at Christmas time. Take a day trip to Salisbury cathedral, home of the Magna Carta.

Location was beautiful. Door was left open for us on arrival with candles lit and Prosecco on ice. Hosts were opposite so nearby if needed. We were made to feel comfortable and were contacted in advance on how to find the accommodation as it is in a very rural and secluded location. The barn is cleaned and maintained to a high standard and every aspect is well kept with unique decor. We made the trip to visit Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park however this would serve as a great base to explore any of the big towns or cities nearby.

We were self-catering so the breakfast question is not relevant. The format of the question about transport did not allow me to give a correct reply. There were three of us of whom two travelled mainly by train and one travelled by car. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were delighted with the property and its character. It also is a perfect location for access to the town. Romsey is also a great base for visits in this area.

The Potter's Heron is attractively situated in open countryside near Romsey in Hampshire. It is close to the village of Hursley where the Reverend John Keble, a saintly and influential figure in the history of the Church of England, was the Vicar in Victorian times. His church is normally open for visiting. The hotel has comfortable rooms, good cooking, and unrestricted free parking.

Hotel in good position to visit Hilliers Garden and Exbury Garden. Also only four miles from Romsey. Easy parking at the hotel. Our room was a good size, clean, comfortable bed, good lighting, pleasant view and had everything we needed. Room wasn't serviced during our stay, but we were quite happy with this. Further supplies of drinking water, coffee, milk etc were available.

A great stay in this historic and characterful building in the heart of Romsey. Decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout; a good room with more facilities than most other hotels. Very good and reasonably priced food in their lovely restaurant. Attentive friendly & efficient staff and service. One of our most comfortable and enjoyable stays for a long time!

The hotel is a 10 min walk from Paultons park, which was very convenient as we traveled with kids. Rich breakfast menu, overall food was very good and they even gave us kids cutlery which was lovely and thoughtful! The hotel is within easy reach by public transport, with a bus stop located across the road.

Charming 16th century inn in a delightful small Hampshire town. Well-appointed, quiet location, friendly and helpful staff, extensive common areas and comfortable bar. Only slight fly in the ointment was that the room, which called itself a 'superior' room, was smaller than anticipated.

This is a quaint converted barn that has old world charm. The gardens are gorgeous. This was great place for us to work during the day and go visiting the countryside in the summer evenings and weekends. Stonehenge was about an hour drive away, Southampton 20 min drive.

Fantastic property and location. For our 2 night stay we couldn’t of picked better for its closeness to the town centre and Southampton. Both breakfasts were of the highest quality and the owners were equally the same in friendliness and proudness of their B&B.
