This place is beautiful and the staff are AMAZING!
The staff here saved my families minibreak. We turned up here, within minutes of making the booking and they were ready. We booked two double rooms and were hoping for adjoining rooms as we are a family of 4 with two young kids, aged 4 and 7. They didn't have adjoining rooms, so moved us to the executive suite and set up two extra beds for the kids so we could all be close. They bent over backwards to accommodate us last minute after the whole minibreak blew up unexpectedly. They even gave us complimentary drinks, knocked on in the morning as gave us extra Biscuits for our young kids and the bar staff helped us find suitable, quiet seating for our special needs daughter.
It's beautiful, clean, and full of amazing staff.
Couldn't recommend it more, will definitely be back for a planned stay.
Special thanks to Mi Mi and Harj, you were amazing.

Good value for money, staff helpful and attentive from check in to checking out. Very comfortable nights' sleep! Breakfast did cost extra due to our booking but was great nonetheless, shows the benefits of being attached to a Marstons pub next door.
I was simply horrified, Its a dirty hovel. The location might work for some, but is a bit out of the way if you are travelling North bound. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good, but having seen how grubby the bedrooms are it makes one wonder what state the kitchen and other none public areas are in.
In future I would stick with the budget chain hotels as apposed to risking an uncomfortable night again in a grubby place like this.
Come on guys, a lick of paint, a clean bathroom, clean carpets and fresh bed linen is 'basic'. A very disappointing experience indeed.
There are friendly comms from the hotel after booking which clearly tells you what you need to know. It was a friendly check in and where some maintenance was taking place they made sure to communicate. The old building and the surroundings had charm and the local walks were brilliant even in the rain! The addition of the Nespresso machine was nice. The heating was excellent and the view out was nice. For the price it was great.
Great hotel for board only, knew this in advance.was very good value for money, excellent welcome, free parking.
Of course a bar and food option would be good, but do understand it may not be feasible
Overall a good choice,with nearby amenities 👍🏽
The room and bedding was very comfortable. Nice quiet room, pretty good Wi-Fi coverage etc. The grounds are stunning and there are lovely walks close to the hotel that you can take with good views of the city, also close to the golf course.
Used Old Rose and Crown as an alternative to a larger chain hotel. Mandy at Reception was lovely and the rooms I used were clean, if a little dated. I only used it as a place to shower and sleep so cannot really say more.
The hotel was lovely , very clean lovely furnishings , my room was huge and had everything I needed , toiletries supplied and Tea/coffee etc
I could not fault anything
Nice location, good grounds for children. We booked a family room and it was spacious although the shower room was very small. Hotel generally clean and well presented.
Great communication booked for my partner as he is working in the area. Contacted hotel to inform them it would be him checking in, Quick reply and very helpful.
