Everything! The property was stunning including the surroundings grounds. The Hall has been refurbished to a very high standard and has a wonderful, homely, yet opulent atmosphere. We loved that there are some original features remaining including the kitchen ovens etc

The breakfast was continental style and both delicious and nutritious.

I found it had no bicycle storage but that was my fault. I booked in a hurry as I was cycling my first coast to coast trail ride but didn't enquire if there were facilities. The owner recognised the difficulty and let me leave the bike in the pub overnight and moved it so it was accessible to me the following morning. I left early and secured the premises behind me as instructed. I enjoyed the stay and the room I slept in which was en suite and would like to thank the owner. If there were to be storage facilities I would use its services again. I completed my c2c.

Staff great. Food great. Room and room facilities great. Dining room and lounges great. Bar prices reasonable. Unfortunately it's in the middle of nowhere and there is nothing to do once you have walked round the gardens. It has a heated outdoor pool if the weather is right. Plenty of parking space. Would probably be great venue for weddings and other celebrations, or any group where you can make your own entertainment.
Bar does not have real ale. Bricklayer's Arms is the nearest local pub and does have real ale, great food and a wonderfully friendly clientelle. It's really far too far to walk to, we tried it, and taxis locally are almost impossible to find.

This hotel is perfect for a relaxing get away.
This hotel is perfect for a relaxing get away. We didn't venture far from the hotel. We stayed to enjoy the restaurant (the evening meal was amazing) and a few drinks in the cosy bar area. The staff were all lovely, helpful, friendly and accommodating.
