Clean, very adequate facilities with nice touches, and comfortable. We had 3 cottages for a one night stay prior to my daughters wedding at Hanbury, and it was perfect for what we wanted.
This splendid Georgian house sits in 7 acres of peaceful and picturesque gardens. Dating back to 1790, it offers individually designed rooms and traditional fine dining in its elegant restaurant.

We loved it from the moment we arrived. We were given a very friendly welcome and were able to enjoy afternoon tea in the lounge while our room was being prepared. The room was beautifully furnished and both dinner and breakfast were first class. We've already booked to stay again later in the year.
Surrounded by 8.5 acres of beautiful grounds, The Boars Head Hotel offers an à la carte restaurant, and a traditional carvery.

Tutbury is a really lovely place in very nice countryside.
Tutbury is a really lovely place in very nice countryside. The high street has retained its quite select features, is clean and well cared for. The hotel is central to the street. Not a place for retail therapy but one excellent antique centre in the old Chapel plus a few eateries and take-seats. Overall it is a lovely central place to stay.

Lovely little village, quiet but went in March.
Lovely little village, quiet but went in March. Castle not open but we had a pleasant walk around the village. There are a few shops for browsing.
The Courtyard cafe is worth a visit - had a lovely brunch there and the coffee was great!
the Hourglass is also recommended - light evening meals - had the veggie platter; very nice

Nice quaint village with plenty of character and history.
Nice quaint village with plenty of character and history. Nice food at the Dog and Partridge, bit tricky to get to using the Satnav from Alton Towers but might have been my navigation! Will be visiting again soon.

Tutbury was a lovely friendly town with everything you needed within walking distance. Our favourite place was Ye Olde Dog and Partridge Hotel where we stayed overnight and ate and drank there also..

A lovely little town, and very quiet at night, until a poor lady with mental health issues kicked off in the street in the middle of the night. Looking back, I should have called 999, but someone did come along and calm her down.
Stayed in the Dog & Partridge over night as we were visiting Alton Towers the following day. The hotel and staff were exceptional, the food in the pub was delicious and the location was perfect. We took a walk to Tutbury Castle on the Saturday evening and it was very interesting and apparently haunted???
All in all a fantastic stay and I would thoroughly recommend it.
We liked the fact that everything we could possibly need had been provided within the price paid.
We liked the modern interior and cleanliness and comfortable beds.
We liked the location next door to Tutbury Castle and High street
We liked the owners who were keen to help with anything
Very stylish and luxurious. Huge bed was so comfortable. Perfect location as guests at a wedding at Tutbury Castle which we could see from the house! Gorgeous toiletries. Sarah the host was a fabulous communicator. Do not hesitate to book this. Worth paying the price for.
Communication from Sarah was excellent throughout my entire stay. The cottage was spotlessly clean and exceptionally well appointed. Tutbury is a charming village, plenty of great options for food and drinks. Bonus points for for the local peacocks!
Very well decorated and very comfy bed.
Fantastic view of Tutbury castle from the decking area.
Lots of nice shops and cafe’s and pubs
Parked right in front of house, free car park 1 minute away as well.
