The hotel is in a lovely setting and grounds, very clean and comfortable room which looked recently refurbished and although modern, the decor was also in keeping with the hotel period and style. The room had a good sized bathroom, powerful shower (over the bath), a really comfy bed, plenty of sockets & USB ports. The staff could not be more helpful and accommodating and went out of their way to do whatever was needed to make your stay the best it could be and to advise if you needed any information. Special thanks to Luke who found and safekept an item I'd accidentally left behind for me to pick up later. The food in the bar area was of a good standard, and quick to arrive and the bar area was comfortable and relaxed. Breakfast had a wide range of fruit, continental and cooked items and was not too busy. I working nearby so didn't have time to use all the facilities, but there was a small fitness room equipped with various weights that I used which was a bonus and also a room with cardio equipment (didn't use the pool so can't comment on that), both were clean and well kept. Easy walk to the train station (or plenty of parking there at £9.10 per day) and only 35-45 mins to London on the train.
Conveniently located on the A41, within easy reach of the M25, M40 and M1 motorways, this hotel offers great facilities and stylish and comfortable surroundings for business and leisure guests.

Lovely property, well positioned for NationalTrust properties.
Well decorated gardens and hanging baskets. Several outdoor areas to eat and drink. Good parking. Bedrooms away from road.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner available in public restaurant.
Quality of our room was excellent. Small but practical. Management did ring us to see if we preferred 2 single or king size beds.

Lovely old inn.
Lovely old inn. No offer or help with luggage, lights not working in room, bedside light fell off wall. We had 2 rooms, my daughters room had a window that wouldn't open more than an inch (in 30 degree temp), I had 2 skylights that were just open and could not be adjusted, no blinds. Food was not good, ran out of breakfast cereal ( a shop 50 yards away), tables in the garden not cleared, we watched a waitress come out with meals 8 times and not once took dirty dishes away! Very willing but completely untrained staff. Rooms were clean and plenty of towels. Distinct feeling that we were in the way.

I liked the fact that it was easy to find and to park.
I liked the fact that it was easy to find and to park. It was a typical village pub and the locals filled it with a lot of laughter.
The tables were spread apart from each other and it was good that we didnt have people breathing down our neck.
The food? OMG - amazing.
Rooms - basic but comfortable. Lovely hot shower in a large cubicle. Very clean. Would I stay again? Hell yep! Anyone going for the son or daughters graduation from RAF Halton? Definately! Its 5 mins from the base. You will have a great stay

this was my second stay and I was more than happy with my comfortable and pleasant room, which was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The shower was excellent too. Plenty of parking and the room is good value for money. Food is pricey and my breakfast this morning wasn’t great value - however the cooked breakfast is. Staff were polite and helpful and I would happily use this hotel again.
The duty manager was very rude and unhelpful. Did not want to listen and when I informed him that he was being rude acted like a child. I have stayed in the hotel on several occasions, but I now won’t be booking a hotel for my overnight stays. I will also instruct my team not to used this hotel.
Confusing multiple names of the pub/hotel. Good atmosphere. Room a little hot for me. Had a good breakfast and very reasonably priced. Mattress a little hard and pillows too big for my liking but we had a great stay catching up with an old friend. Good bathroom facilities.
It is always easy to find fault with a hotel or bnb but this isn't an episode of 4 in a bed. It's a regularly used hotel and restaurant, it delivered and I will go back there when I return to the area. Breakfast staff were particularly nice and attentive. I liked it.
Everything went well at this Hotel. The excellent Staff, the clean room, the superb food, and the welcoming atmosphere. The bar was adequately staffed and this was backed up by efficient Waiter service. Well done all!
Fantastically friendly staff, room (small but perfectly formed), top quality breakfast cooked to order - put even a five star hotel's buffer to shame. All perfect examples of what I was looking for.
room ok, but TV no remote. Previous reviews noted this, Solution, issue remote at checkin/ Hotel must better seperate check in for guests from ordinary bar custoners to avoid delays.
Cosy and comfortable. Nicely made bed with crisp fresh clean sheets.. Information leaflet great idea, hair dryer was a bonus. Over all a lovely hotel. Will definitely stay again
Many positives - the staff were really friendly and attentive, the food was great (breakfast was fantastic), really nice decor and the hotel was spotless.
