The cottage was lovely and clean - the main house
appears to be being refurbished so I’m sure it’ll be amazing once it’s completed. Located slightly further out from central Siloth than expected, so a car would
be essential. The surrounding roads can get muddy on wet days. We had a rainy couple of days but I’m sure the summer would make the surrounding grounds even better!
Originally a coaching inn dating back to 1770, Lake District Castle Inn is now a modern venue with views of Bassenthwaite Lake.

Positives: Really loved the staff, food & location.
Positives: Really loved the staff, food & location. Beds were comfy too.
We found the room decor in family suite really worn, didn’t feel comfortable that there was no window lock as big drop right next to kids’ beds. Thankfully they didn’t notice the window as I kept curtain drawn and all ok.
Also odd smell in corridor outside our room but it didn’t go in room. Overall though I would stay again. Really really friendly & accomodating, lovely atmosphere gorgeous location. was delicious too.
All round fabulous stayed for one night with 3 grandchildren 2 rooms we ate our evening meal at the hotel the food and service was spot on also breakfast was lovely everything very clean and well presented ample car parking lovely little garden with play are for young kids brilliant
My granddaughter left her lap top charger in the room when we departed and the hotel phoned me informing me so that we were able to return and pick it up so kind of the staff to do that and one happy child thank you great place we’ll be back
Wheyrigg far exceeded our expectations, the pictures don’t do it justice. We stayed in the family suite which which had comfortable beds and all the facilities we needed, in a quiet part of the hotel. The staff were beyond exceptional. So friendly and accommodating, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. Breakfast was great with a good range of hot and cold options and very quick service. The price was fair considering we’re in the year of the post-covid staycations.
We were on Hadrian's Cycleway and Wheyrigg Hall Hotel is only a couple of miles off the route - there's not much choice once you've left Silloth. . The staff were very helpful and there is an outhouse used as secure cycle storage overnight. The restaurant only has a small menu, but everyone in our party really enjoyed their evening meal. Breakfast was good too.
This is a really super little friendly family hotel. We all loved the dinner and amazing, tasty breakfasts and really lovely staff. Such a little gem of a place for a stop off up north and perfect for larger families. The beds were very comfortable and the room was lovely and clean.
We stayed at the Wheyrigg Hotel before our show at a local festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The staff and locals were ever so friendly and we got on so well we had some pictures in the bar together!
I would describe the hotel as old fashioned, but with plenty of space, great staff and good food for our evening meal. Reasonable price for what it was and breakfast was included.
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean and airy, so good to be able to open a window in a hotel these days!
Great breakfast and staff very helpful with food choices for allergies. All staff very welcoming and hotel spotlessly clean throughout, good sized room
