Everything is new, clean and in good shape. The room looks nice and cozy. Beds are comfortable. A refrigerator is so welcome in this climate (and isn't easy to find places with one). AC works well. Bathroom is clean and gas good water pressure.
The hosts are very hospitable and even left is coconuts in the fridge which was a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again if I go to Tela in the future.

We arrived in May during a bit of an off-season in tourism but all tours and shops were still open and accessible. We stayed for 4 nights as it was our first location of the trip and just wanted to get our bearings. I’d recommend 2/3 nights. Tela isn't insanely rich with different tourist thing you can do, however they have some very nice beaches. The overall vibe was pretty welcoming, we stayed mostly within a 15 block radius of our hotel (Maya Vista). Highly recommend staying there as well as going to eat just a few buildings down at The Family Food Truck. Again wonderful family vibe, good food and drinks are available and decent prices.
The staff is amazing. Everyone was very friendly, enquiring about our stay and whether we were happy with everything (including activities outside the hotel).
The rooms and the rest of the facilities were kept spotless. We saw a number of improvements (refreshed rooms, an additional pool, and a new building which is yet to be finished). The hotel has managed to keep up with the homely vibe. The internet was very good (managed to work without IT-related interruptions). The food was of very good quality.
The hotel is ok, the cabins in the woods, away from the pool, are great. We found food that we liked, which is not always the case for all inclusive. The staff was very helpful. The beach access is great.
Small hotel with friendly vibes. Included a typical breakfast which is quite simple but delicious. Good restaurant and really nice area for eating. The toucan is beautiful and they also have turtles.
