A beautiful hotel with excellent facilities and a good restaurant and pool area. There were also two warungs and a very small spa that gave me one of the best massages I've had, just outside the gate. Stunning views of the trees and Mt Agung. Extremely peaceful. This would be great if you need peace and quiet.

I choose to stay in Sideman since I heard it was more like the Ubud of 20 years ago (when I first started coming to Bali). And yes, it has a less-touristy vibe, although there are certainly things to do (silver jewelry making classes, cooking classes, rice paddy walks). But it is quieter, which is what I was looking for. The one thing that is important to know is that at the time of this writing, there is no ATM in the village. I wish I would have known this in advance, as many shops do not take credit cards, or if they do, it comes with extra fees. Had I known this I would have taken out more cash at the airport on arrival to make sure I had sufficient.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Sidemen is still not too touristic and does feel off the beaten track. There is a lot of development happening, but locals still see people as people. It is walkable in 30-ish minutes. There is plenty of restaurants, tracks and things to do while being there. Would definitely recommend! Easy to get to and 1 hr away from the beach. Very calm and quiet.

my favorite place where Mt Angun, water rafting, and snorgeling in Blue Lagoon, quadbike thu the river and local area. Going to the Sideman silver smith and make or buy you jewelery eating in and aroud was made easy with many local restaurants. getting aroud was made very easy by renting a scooter very cheap and much quicker then a carVerbeek - 10Scored 10

Great authentic area to visit in Bali, the rice terraces are spectacular and also there are some nice views around if you go by scooter. Good area for tourist needs, nice warungs and restaurants ( i recommend Samanvaya) in the area, scooter rental and stores. Pretty close to many waterfalls, views and other atttractions like Penglipuran Village. The main streets get pretty busy sometimes and some b roads are in a really bad shape, but with a scooter you can overcome everything and the spectacular nature makes you forget any inconvenience.

The place is very well located - you can access the official start of the sidemen field walk within 5 minutes (the fields in front and those on the side toward the mountain), it is located right next to an authentic village and further away from all the “copy-paste” villas (although there are some currently being built nearby). They came to ask at our villa if we wanted te eat in so they could make a reservation. Pool is great, maybe they could place some more umbrellas. Massage is also really nice in a calm and relax environment. Sidemen is a nice and quit place. We walked 9,5km with our stroller.
