Beautiful environment, clean air outside the busy part of the city. Great owners who took care of us in every way, excellent kitchen and clean and comfortable accommodation. An oasis of peace and good mood. I recommend booking a 3-day jungle trek through them, it was the best experience of the entire stay. We saw a lot of animals in the wild thanks to the excellent guides and they also have a great cook :)

Sam’s Bungalows is quiet and isolated. You stay at the top of this narrow way that locate most of the tourist housing in Bukit Lawang. Therefore you will find lots of local restaurants while listening to jungle sounds. Sam’s kitchen is definitely one of the best, the food is excellent and the service provided is really good. We also used their taxi service from Medan airport. Perfect stay in Bukit Lawang!

The place is super well located and close to bars, restaurants and local shops. The views from the room face the river and the jungle which was great.

You have to stay here!! Andri makes you feel like family straight away and is one of the kindest people we ever met, the whole family is so sweet, the rooms are beautiful and so comfortable and have hammocks outside and the food in the restaurant is amazing. Tia, the manager was fantastic from start to finish. I had called her weeks before arriving and she arranged the transfer from the airport, guide and was helpful in every way. The meals were good too and she was just great to be around. Kind and caring. The location is great and on the last morning an Orangutan and her baby came to feed on the Mango tree next to the bungalow.

Beautiful Location next to the river and with a big and wonderful garden, a lot of place to lay in the grass and relax. Very quiet and peaceful place.
The food was amazing! Everything fresh from the garden, a lot of delicious vegetables and fruits.

This is as good as it gets. The owner (Udin) is a very nice guy and helped me with organizing my jungle trek as well as transportation. The guesthouse is located in a very nice part of Bukit Lawang, surrounded by lots of nature. You can also take a dip in the river right in front of it.
I was also very happy with the food. Small menu, but all the dishes were excellent, homemade and with local ingredients. You will not find western food here, which is a good thing.

We loved the guesthouse, the wonderful location at the river and the very friendly staff! The food in the restaurant was also great.
We also booked 2-day-jungle-trekking tour which was just amazing! We saw orangutans and monkeys, a snake and different birds. The guide was experienced and explained a lot of facts about the jungle to us. One of the highlights was definitely staying the night at the camp in the jungle.
