Monks Ballyvaughan, a property with a bar and a shared lounge, is located in Ballyvaughan, 28 km from Cliffs of Moher, 48 km from Galway Greyhound Stadium, as well as 49 km from Eyre Square.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing hotel, and let me tell you, it was an absolute 5-star experience! 🌟 The location was perfect, offering stunning views of Galway Bay and the local pier. The room itself was simply breathtaking, finished to an incredibly high standard. I loved the attention to detail, especially the beautiful Voya products in the bathroom. It even had a smart TV in the room, which was a great bonus. Shauna at the front desk was an absolute delight, making us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast was a true highlight, with the most amazing pancakes you can imagine, all enjoyed with a view of the bay. The menu was well-priced and offered a great variety of options. The hotel had such a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind. Plus, they had parking available, and even electric chargers, which was super convenient. The flexible check-in process was a nice touch as well. I highly recommend this place, and I can say with certainty that I will be returning in the future. It's an absolute gem! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Barrymor Twin, Family and Double Room, hotel in Ballyvaughan

Barrymor Twin, Family and Double Room features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Ballyvaughan, 30 km from Cliffs of Moher.

Our room was self-catered. We had plenty of amenities to make coffee/tea or heat our rolls in the microwave, but we went into the nearby town to people watch while we ate breakfast. Barrymor's location is perfect--down the end of a lane just a stone's through from the town center. Being at the end of the lane, we were immersed in nature . . . I heard the cuckoo in the morning! Quiet, quiet . . . pretty . . . and our hostess Helen seemed like family right off. So much so that we went back the following night even though we didn't have reservations!

We hiked in the Burren National Park (which is free), and that was lovely. It's very rocky, so I'd recommend bringing hiking boots or really durable shoes if you're planning on going on some of the more difficult trails. We ate at Leanne's Lobster Bar and Monk's Seafood - both were great, though their menus do overlap quite a bit (but we enjoyed something different both nights).

Very little choice of places to eat or have a coffee. Tea rooms not open at 11am on Thursday as suggested. Had a fab dinner at Monks and on a return visit next morning at 1130am had great tea n scones in front of blazing stove. Superb.

The hosts were very friendly right from greeting us upon arrival and giving us tips to serving us breakfast before we left. The full Irish breakfast was very good. We had dinner before arriving in Ballyvaughan, and only stayed for one night. We had a car, so it was easy for us to drive into the town centre from there. We would stay there again. We were given tips of sites to see when we left, and one we were glad not to miss was the Poulnabrone Portal tomb.

We only were able to stay one night. It was a great launch pad for visiting the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. The people were friendly, the food was great and the pub was fun with local, live music! We recommend it!

The Clare Way is a nice way for walkers.

The Clare Way is a nice way for walkers. There are at least two good places to eat out. Some side roads are in a poor state of repair. Clare County Council need to fill the pot holes and try and keep the roads in decent repair. This includes some access routes to this property.

A beautiful traditional Irish village with all you need for a comfortable varied stay in Ireland. Situated between the stunning Burren and the cliffs off the Atlantic Ocean, and nestled on the south side of Galway Bay, Ballyvaughan is ideally located. There are a lot of places to visit in the area. You can swim in the bay or on the nearby Bishop's Quarter beach. In Summer or Winter there are lovely places to visit and in Ballyvaughan alone, the fabulous Monk's seafood restaurant is a great spot with super friendly staff, a warm welcome and really fabulous food. I cannot wait to go back to Ballyvaughan!

Very friendly reception. The landlady is cordial and willing to provide information. The rooms were spacious, clean and in a quiet location on the Cliffs of Moher. The house is almost in the center of the village. Sea, restaurants and harbor are within very short walking distance. A grocery store for shopping is only 50 meters away. Breakfast was extensive and very good. We would try again to book this accommodation on a renewed trip to this place.

great breakfast choices, really tasty and cooked to perfection. The hosts were very friendly and attentive, the rooms kept very clean, bottled water replaced daily, fresh flower in a vase a nice touch. Parking easy ,either in the grounds or on the road beside. The lodge is on a quiet road, very peaceful but within walking distance of the restaurants and shops. Ballyvaughan is a picturesque village on the edge of the Burren well worth visiting.

The location was perfect for our stay right in the centre of Ballyvaughan near to cafes and restaurants. The house was clean , bright and comfortable. Only downside was our en-suite did not work during our stay. The owner was notified and said it would require to be checked by an electrician. In this instance we were lucky to be able to use the shower in the main bathroom as we were not sharing the house with anyone else.

I like the fact that parking was available on the back of property. It may be different during peak season. Since I recently twisted my ankle and not so mobile, I was grateful the lodge had a lift. Room 10 is right next to the lift and comfortable. Plus the lodge had a bar and restaurant.

Fanciest B&B out of 3 trips to Ireland. More formal with paid staff rather than just the owner doing all the work. The breakfast room is more like a restaurant with a huge buffet of fresh fruits and homemade fruit compotes.
