The B&B is most certainly the best one we’ve ever stayed in, it was better than a 5* hotel! The room was just beautiful it had French doors going out to the garden, we were given a glass of bubbly each on arrival and when we returned from our meal out the bed was turned down with chocolates and there was a night cap for us both with a lovely note saying have a good night sleep!! Our breakfast was amazing and we were even given biscuits and cakes for our journey!!

Sneem Hotel, hotel in Derreenacush

Sneem Hotel offers rooms with views of Kenmare Bay or MacGillycuddy’s Reeks, Ireland’s highest mountain range. Spacious bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and there is a gym and restaurant.

WE stayed here four nights. When we checked in they advised we had been upgraded from a double room to a family room. Great sized room with a king and a single bed, two desk areas, two armchairs but no fridge, even though there was a space for one or where one had been. Lovely views of the Estuary. Breakfast was very good with continental and a great choice a la carte cooked. Very peaceful surrounds and only a 5 minute walk into the village. Some very nice restaurants and cafes.

I would never expect something REAL for such a democratic price. But this place showed me that you can pay not much and get a very good service! I am happy that our family stayed at Dormid hostel. Clean room, comfortable beds, everything as should be. Spacious kitchen that is almost brand new renovated. Super!

If you are looking for a relaxing break away to a very homely cottage (Tigin) with a great view and has every thing you will need, then this is the place for you. All you need to take is food, wine and a good book. We enjoyed the town of Glengarett so much that we went twice. We also took the boat to Garinish Island but we were not to impressed. Cost €12.50 each but we got on the Island free (normally it’s another €5 each). It says it has a Japanese garden !!!!

Not the easiest place to find but well worth the trip and Rene was very good about giving us clear directions. The location is on the Beara peninsula with the most breathtaking views of the ocean. The cottage itself is warm and comfortable and everything was spotless and beautifully decorated.
