We had a lovely stay. While it was only one night, we were blown away. Anthony and Deirdre were so accommodating and friendly making our trip even more special. They left fresh eggs, bread, butter and jams left in the kitchen was an extra sweet touch and Charlie, my corgie had a wonderful stay as well

Brogans Bar & Hotel, hotel in Trim

Built from stone from the nearby Trim Castle, Brogan’s Hotel is in the heart of Trim. It offers rooms with power showers and Brogans Bar & Grill.

I liked the large, king size bed and the roomy bathroom, which in this particular room was designed to suit the disabled. (I am not disabled though, so be aware, I cannot review the bathroom from that point of view and experience). The room was next to the pub restaurant's backyard terrace, so it can be noisy until it closes. Room and towels looked and felt clean enough. The staff was kind, fast and flexible, and the location was handy (near the castle, old bridge, bus stops, coffee shops, restaurants, supermarket, deli, petrol station, etc.)

Trim has a great castle, used in the filming of Braveheart.

Trim has a great castle, used in the filming of Braveheart. The guided tour of the keep is quite good. There is a friendly family of donkeys in a pasture just down the road from the castle and you are allowed to feed them (a sign with foods that are allowed is in the pasture). Trim is a great base for exploring Bru na Boinne, Mellifont Abbey, the Hill of Tara and other areas of interest. I actually;lly would have stayed 3-4 nights instead of 2, but we had reservations in a different area.

    Trim castle is awesome!

Trim castle is awesome! The tour provides historical, anecdotal and architectural context for the structure, and the grounds have detailed markers and schematics to help you understand what you're seeing. We needed more time to explore the grounds, the ruined Abbey, and surrounding areas. Dinner at the Stock House restaurant provided a good steak and interesting decor to explore. Definitely a stop for a day or two on our next trip to Ireland.

We only stayed in Trim one night.

We only stayed in Trim one night. We went to the castle which is in pretty good shape. Entry is free but you can pay for a guided tour of the Keep which you should do. We ate dinner at the Trim Castle Hotel in the Bailey Brasserie. It is a little expensive but we thought the meal was very good. The host was friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was that our waiter was very busy and not very attentive but this would not keep me from returning.

Came to the hotel for a wedding.

Came to the hotel for a wedding. Lovely scenery of the castle from the rooftop and some rooms. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. My room was nice and had everything I needed and the breakfast was very nice. I paid €190 for 1 night stay in a double room which I thought was too expensive for a Monday night but overall I enjoyed my stay.

Trim is a beautiful town, with plenty to interest both adults and children. There are plenty of independent cafes and restaurants, making a lovely change from high streets with global chains. Lovely walks along the river and around the Norman castle, the focal point of the town.

The girl upon check in couldn’t have been better. It ended there and went downhill. The cleanliness of the room was not good. The sink had mold and scum around the drain holes. Upon turn down. They never vac’d. Didn’t change bedding or sheets. The room is hot all the time. And only cools off if you leave heat down and open the doors. The lights off the back patio don’t work. All and all for the money of the hotel is wasn’t worth staying there for the value. Very disappointed actually.

The whole weekend stay was excellent. Location a walk from other Trim sites like the castle! The house was a lovely break and across from the hotel so that kids could safely go to and from the facilities. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had family staying in rooms in the hotel too but personally, with children, the house was the better option for versatility. The golf was a great addition. Many thanks for a great weekend

Pam and Morris had a beautiful home, it was exceptional! Everything was spotless. The beds were so comfortable and luxurious. We sat out on the patio after a long day and it was so refreshing. Pam provided every thing you could need, we had water and chocolate on our bedside table. And she prepared a lovely breakfast! Pam and Morris were so warm and welcoming. This is the place to stay if you are in the Trim area!

Friendly and very helpful staff. Upon arrival, very warm welcome and Jack who was managing the bar was a pleasure to deal with checking in. The accommodation is situated in the heart of Trim. The rooms are spotless and spacious. Probably one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The atmosphere is relaxed and the locals that stopped by for a pint are as friendly as the staff. Highly recommended

Hosts and staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They were fantastic, so kind and helpful. The room was large and bed comfy. The bathroom was small but had the best shower of our trip so far in Ireland. Breakfast was great and plenty of it. Location is very walkable to town center and an easy drive to various sites in the Boyle Valley.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast (vegetarian) tasted good, the charging points were excellent and quick. The hotel had beautiful rustic decor and was in a very central spot in Trim. The hotel had parking facilities and had access to a very friendly taxi service. Also felt that hotel was reasonably priced.

A good stop over for a function such as a wedding or event, even though our event was not in knightsbrook but another hotel. The staff our very accommodating and there has obviously been an improvement in their training. good location for exploring the sights of the local area. ideal for middle aged male golfers who like to drink.

This was one of the prettiest B&Bs I have ever stayed at. Mary paid attention to all the details. Just a lovely, comfortable room, with dreamy details and an excellent breakfast. And thank you for the tip on getting to the airport! We will be back to see Trim Castle and more of Trim.

The hotel was by far one of the best I have stayed in, in Ireland and I have stayed in quite a few, The room was huge, extremely comfortable bed, the view of the golf course was sensational, food and drinks were great and it was easy to get to from Dublin via the 111 bus..

I was looking for a quiet place with some character. I stayed in the main house which had the (immense) charm of an older residence but with modern conveniences. Being a bit outside of Trim on a farm, it offered the perfect setting I was looking for.

We loved this spot. After a long flight from Australia we wanted to get out of Dublin but not drive to far. The little village of Trim (5min away) was a perfect welcome to Ireland. This property was quiet, very comfortable and welcoming.

Everything about this stay in this B&B was perfect. The B&B is a slight walk (across a beautiful field) from the historic parts of Trim, but that did not bother us. For some, that may be a problem.
