Great breakfast with gluten free options..helpful staff. Quiet room. Would stay again!
Situated in Keflavík, 20 km from Blue Lagoon, Courtyard by Marriott Reykjavik Keflavik Airport features accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant.
Great location 10 minutes from the Blue lagoon. We stayed here on our first night in Iceland going straight from the airport to the Blue lagoon then checked in.
Not a lot here but there’s a pretty church here
Tip: don’t buy supplies in the airport shop - we stocked up & it cost us a fortune. There’s a Netto in Grindavík

Grindavik is a small, beautiful fishing village close to the Geldingadalur volcano (but not too close) and the Blue Lagoon. It has many excellent hiking opportunities and great restaurants. Grindavik is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. Whale-watching, fishing, mountaineering, very friendly people, safe environment, you name it, Grindavik has it all!

Great location for Meradalir.
Great location for Meradalir. Fabulous fish and chips at Papas - Grindavik is a fishing town, so all fish is fresh that morning. Lovely walking around the town. Very peaceful. Great for exploring south coast and peninsula. Only 25 mins from Keflavik.

We stopped for one night during our Iceland tour to visit the Blue Lagoon and Fagradalsfjall, the volcano that erupted in 2021 and is still smoldering several months later. Grindavik is a working fishing village with a few local restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy, so is a really good spot to stay for a day when touring Iceland. It is not touristy though so don’t expect lots of shops selling the usual.

Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history.
Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history. It's super close to the Blue lagoon and volcano so, there are many options for hiking or relaxing. There's a grill place with a super nice man who told me a little about the history and life of Grindavik's people and he also sells awesome hotdogs. Wish I could've stayed longer but a huge storm came so I had to run away :)
The accommodations were excellent. The living space at the guesthouse was not only clean and well-organized, but there were also snacks, coffee, teas, supplies, etc,. Dagmar was very quick to respond if I had any questions or issues. My SMS was not working in Iceland so I couldn't make phone calls to get a taxi, and Dagmar was very responsive and accommodating. I highly recommend the Grindavik Guesthouse, and would definitely stay there again.
Check in process was clunky as no staff was present for assistance. There were no instructions as to check in process. No in-person assistance was available during our stay. The host did answer the phone readily when we called upon arrival. The room was large and well appointed. Accommodations were clean. Only one of the three beds was made up. Grindavik is a small town so location is not an issue.
The studio we got was perfect and the only place we stayed in over 6 nights that had a tub...which was much needed after a 14 mile hike to the volcano. It was super clean, the beds were comfortable, check in was easy and the entire hotel was quiet. The ONLY small complaint is that the pillows were very flat. I had to roll up a towel underneath it to get any sort of support.
We had just discovered that our property was not there anymore and headed to the Hotel Grindavik. The staff was super friendly and prepared us a room in 5 minutes. The room was very large and so was the bathroom: everything with a sea view. The place has a very friendly and familiar atmosphere and a very nice restaurant as well. We were very grateful to the staff
Good place to stay for just a night. There is a restaurant very next to it (belongs to another hotel) so getting morning coffee or breakfast was easy. Other wise although a good place this property is located is sort of drab, industrial, Wearhouse looking area.
We wanted a reasonable and comfortable stay near Blue Lagoon. This did fit the bill perfectly.
We were pleasantly surprised by this modern, warm and charming hotel! While the restaurant upstairs is very traditional, the hotel rooms are modern. This was THE largest room of all the hotel rooms in which we stayed in Iceland. Added bonus - beautiful original art in the hallway and the room.
The accommodation is situated close to the Blue lagoon (20 min by car). Quiet neighbourhood and parking spot for the car in front of the house. The host was friendly and has recommended us great restaurants nearby. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedroom is big enough and cosy.
Everything.
This was our first hotel in Iceland and it was so, so, so good.
Staff were friendly and helpful, they had a free shuttle to the Blue Lagoon, huge and delicious breakfast, open fire in the evening, chess board and free waffles for afternoon tea....Brilliant.
Location was good for us. Easy self check in process. 11am checkout was nice. Room was clean and adequate. Shared kitchen space was also nice if you need it. Really close to Blue Lagoon and the Kef Airport which was great on our travel day out
I’ve travelled to 50 countries in total. Stayed in most 5 stars hotels and one seven star hotel. But this retreat, is just the best hotel/retreat on planet earth. the staff, food, facilities, our room, spa, and everything was just perfect
The cottage looks lovely, there's a small kitchen and a living room with a bed sofa. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and modern. Overall, we had a lovely stay in Grindavík and completely loved the design of this cottage.
The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are big and super comfortable. Wonderful bathroom products from the blue lagoon spa. If you’re looking to spend few days in complete relax, this is the place to be pampered.
Hotel is located in the city center, right next to a supermarket (which opens at 10:00am (what?!)) and a gas station which was very convenient over all. Plenty of parking space, room was small but cozy.
great location if you are doing Blue Lagoon. we came from US and went right to Blue Lagoon, checked in to Hotel, dinner at in house Maxes and early bed to adjust to time zone
