We received a code and could get into the room any time. Kitchen was well equipped. Room was big and quiet. We were lucky to see the aurora in this city, but we needed to drive shortly outside of the city.

Property was clean, location was nice, wifi worked well!
Beautiful views of the sea, especially sunrise. Great mountain views. It was uncharacteristically cold and windy so no hiking but trails exist. Easy access to the national park with black beaches, lighthouses, lava tubes and volcano views. Nothing open in winter, you'll have to drive to Arnarstapi (5 minutes) or 30 min around the peninsula for any food or fuel.

Great location to explore the peninsula and lots of walks...
Great location to explore the peninsula and lots of walks from Hellnar along the coast. Eating options are quite limited but the food at our hotel was excellent so we were happy to eat there each night.
Remote, wild location just off the ring road, warm welcome, views (even on a rainy day), good room with comfy bed and bathroom with a strong shower. Dinner and breakfast both great. Also recommend the Frista Food Truck in nearby Arnarstapi for amazing fish and chips and quesadillas. Good recommendations from reception for spots to stop at on the drive back to Reykjavik, including seals on the rocks at Ytri Tunga. We also found a lovely little forest to walk through further on at Hofsstaðaskógur.
The hotel was located conveniently at the halfway point of the Snæfellsness Peninsula. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, linen and towels as well as 2-in-1 body wash and shampoo provided. We took the breakfast option and the breakfast was awesome! They also have the option for a picnic take-out which is what we did so that we could eat a lunch later in the day. It's 2 sandwiches, 1 juice and 1 chocolate for $19.
Beautiful location, perfect stop after coming in from airport and doing many activities on the peninsula. Amazing breakfast and friendly staff. Must do the walk Hellnar to Arnarstapi Hike behind the hotel. Perfect to do right behind hotel and go eat dinner in Arnarstapi and we ate at Stapin restaurant (amazing fish and chips and draft beer) and walked back. Perfect hotel
The location is great. The town of Hellnar is little more than a hotel, these accommodations, an old church and access to a wonderful seaside trail that starts at a charming little cafe perfect for a post hike beer or soup and bread. If the weather cooperates you’ll have great views of the glacier out one window and ocean out the other.
Great location as a mid-point overnight stop on a two day drive around the Snaeffelsns Pininsula. Really beautiful views out both the front & backdoors; glacier on one side, ocean on the other. Nice, clean restaurant and rooms. Able to accommodate a room for Parents and one child. Great espresso machine in the restaurant.
The location was amazing, the place was clean, and it was super quiet in Hellnar. It's also walking distance to the "hotel" in Hellnar, and they have a very good restaurant.
Hellnar was a perfect base for us to do some day trips around the peninsula. It's also close to some of the popular attractions.
The staff were amazing, kind and helpful.
The location was perfect, and the views from the common areas were breathtaking. All of the major sites on the peninsula are a short drive from the hotel.
Parking was easy.
Dinner was exceptional! We felt like we were eating at a 5 star restaurant.
This is the second time we have stayed here. It is a gorgeous hotel in a beautiful part of Iceland. The staff are absolutely amazing! Very friendly, helpful & kind to all guest - think that what makes staying here so wonderful.. not to mention the spectacular views
The hotel is located in a prime location close by to almost all of the attraction snæfellsnes southern peninsula, making it an excellent stop during a trip to snæfellsnes.
The breakfast was excellent, and the staff was extremely nice - highly recommended
The location, setting, and views from of the hotel were beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in a lovely dining room with views of the ocean was very good. Common area and balconies offered stunning views as well.
Great hotel close to the national park and many of the local walking trails. The rooms were spacious and modern. The breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant served quality but expensive meals (expensive for Australians at least).
It's a nice hotel on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The food is good and stuff is friendly. There's a big parking space. The location is great for panoramas and photos. We even managed to take some pictures of whales.
Absolutely beautiful views. Fabulous hike right from hotel. Dinner was delicious! Compliments to the chef! Best meal in Iceland and better than Moss at Blue Lagoon.
