Everything was good. Quiet place, nice clean room, good breakfast, restaurant directly in front of the hotel. We enjoyed hot tub outside after a long hiking day. Perfect place to stay on the Golden Circle.

Was lovely and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The scenery was amazing, very peaceful, and the hot tub was a complete bonus, especially with all the snow. Perfect location for the Geysir and tomatoe farm visit. Would highly recommend

Reykholt is a nice little village on the golden circle.
Reykholt is a nice little village on the golden circle. It has a little grocery shop in the petrol station with hot dogs and ice cream. There are also the Mika and Friðheimar restaurants, both worth a visit. The outdoor swimming pool, playgrounds and sport facilities are fantastic for the kids. This is one of our favourite areas to book for weekends away from Reykjavík. We enjoy the local hikes, waterfalls (and also Restaurant Mika!). With Secret Lagoon nearby as well as the Golden Circle being within a short drive, there is plenty to do. The Restaurant Mika was a welcoming place, since we were traveling the Golden circle late and were worried we wouldn't have anything to eat before arriving at the amazing Blue Hotel Fagrilundur. We thought the restaurant would close at 9pm on the Monday night, but we saw they kept letting travellers in well past 9pm. And the food was wonderful! And they accommodated my partner's gluten and sugar intolerance so nicely, by even cooking the potatoes on a separate pan from the others. We would come back to Reykholt and Restaurant Mika and the Blue Hotel again and stay longer!

You can use the kitchen to make whatever you like and the kitchen is equipped. The area around the Lodge is very beautiful and you can make a morning walk exploring the nature. I suggest staying there 2 nights and then head for the south to Vik to explore the rest of the Iceland. Value for money staying. We could also use the hot tub for free, all staff were nice and friendly, the breakfast in the morning had everything we wanted (scrambled eggs, pancakes, toasts, jam, butter, coffee, tea, apple and orange juice, ham and cheese, basically everything you have on mind :)). I really recommend this accomodation, we were so happy to stay there and if we will be back in Iceland, I would LOVE to stay here! :)
