The purpose our visit to Fiesole was to celebrate our friend's birthday whom we had not seen for years. We had never heard of Fiesole, but they were staying there for a 3 week holiday (from Canada) and so we joined them with zero expectations. Fiesole was absolutely lovely, and frankly two days was not enough. We ate very well at local restaurants and visited the lovely Franciscan monastery on top of the hill, which is well worth a look. An incredible museum with Chinese coins dating back to the 100AC (!) and an Egyptian mummified kitten amongst other extremely old antiquities! Was not expecting that LOL!
View of Florence is spectacular from Fiesole, and to think you are in a small little quiet 'village' just 20 mins drive away.

Nestled in the hills just a stone's throw away from Florence, Fiesole is a quaint Italian town that may not boast an extensive list of attractions, but it captivates visitors with its serene ambiance and unparalleled vistas of the Tuscan capital. If you're in search of a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Florence, Fiesole is the perfect destination.

We did not see much of Fiesole because our stay was short and we were focused on Florence but we would really like to have visited the Roman ruins of Fiesole. The part of town that we stayed in has a nice piazza with a restaurant, an ice-cream parlor and a really yummy food truck. It is really well connected to Florence (a cheap bus takes you to the city in 20 min. and it comes every 15 so it is really convenient). The restaurant has a gorgeous view of the whole valley with Florence in the middle. We also saw the post office and a grocery store around there. It is really a pleasant town with a lot to offer.

Quaint little town on the hill above Florence, easily accesable by bus from the centre of Florence. There are few restaurants and cafe's in the centre and also a historic centre with Roman ruins and a museum. We had 3 nights tehre, but could have easily stayd more, as the vibe of the small time is great and if you get bored you can easily go to Florence and back.

Fiesole is a beautiful vibrant village in the hills above Florence. Wonderful views back towards the city. Fascinating history to explore. The perfect place to stay out of the hustle of the city and only a 20 odd minute bus trip away. Lots of great bars and restaurants. A well stocked small supermarket. We love Fiesole.

Deliberately booked fiesole as didn't want the chaos of florence centre. However, there is a number 7 bus that goes back and forth 1.50 euro takes about 22 mins and very frequent.I believe would get a better class hotel in centre and yes same price or less .The walks are tiring around fiesole but views worth it. we were lucky sun was shining each day. some amazing sunsets about 7pm.Little cake shop towards bottom hill ALCEDO cheapest coffee to go and amazing cakes.Coop sells all need to make picnics as food is very costly
The innkeepers were delightful. They let us check in a little early and were SO accomodating. They offered advice into how to get into Florence proper, giving us the scoop on the cheapest public parking around. The house was amazing - one tower was built in the 1200's, the other in the 1400's and the home was a stopping point for the De Medici family. At night, it's super quiet and you can hear the cicadas singing. Breakfast was delicious - the fresh made apple strudel still makes my mouth water! Bonus - The property is GORGEOUS!
The location of Fiesole is beautiful. ( we actually got very lucky as booking.com let us down on the day we were arriving!! So we sorted our own out on the train from Milan to Florence ) I was initially disappointed not to be nearer Florence ( as originally planned), however, it was very easy to get the bus into Florence.
We ate both nights at a restaurant in the town - which was lovely.
Self service breakfast at the hotel on the terrace was also lovely.
Staff also sorted us out with extra pillows as soon as we requested them.
A very charming and wonderful place to stay, especially for a trip to Florence. Stefania is a very welcoming and lovely host. The rooms are spacious, clean and decorated in a lovely Italian style. The center of the town is in just 2 mins walk, where you can find restaurants and also the bus to Florence city center. The breakfast is very delicious and you can enjoy some wondrous home made Italian pastries. Would love to return!
This beautiful air Bnb set on property was exactly what we needed for our few days in Florence. The room was comfortable, we were fed a beautiful breakfast each morning and our host and her family were so lovely. We drove into the town each day (5min drive) and caught the but into Florence. it was so easy and convenient. The last day we explored Fiesole, what a beautiful town so rich in history!
thank you for a lovely stay!
Great place at a great location! With a great host!
If you are looking to visit Florence with your family I highly recommend!
The apartment was clean, well furnished and has all the utilities needed.
Fiesole is a pretty little village in the outskirts of Florence. Nice, quiet with a great view. Easy access to the city, regular bus line - it takes you about 20 min to reach the center of the city and start exploring!
We were thrilled with our stay at Villa Bonelli. The owner greeted us and made us feel at home. She gave us recommendations on what to see and where to eat in Fiesole, which made our stay very enjoyable. Fiesole is a lovely town with amazing views if Tuscany and of Florence. The hotel was in a perfect place. Breakfast was extra good - featuring freshly cooked delicious cakes. I recommend Villa Bonelli completely.
Absolutely perfect for our 3 night stay in Fiesole. A good size and comfortable, with traditional Italian style and beautiful view. The host was very helpful and welcoming, and left lovely little touches such as croissants and coffee pods. Location is great as you are right next to the main town square with restaurants, cafes, shops and the jus shop which goes direct to Florence city centre.
Gorgeous 14th century villa, view directly over Florence is stunning and a number of terraces to sit and enjoy, great location for day trips to Florence (20 mins on bus) or out to Tuscan countryside. Village of Fiesole has ruins and a selection of restaurants. Excellent breakfast available.
Very nice location in the quiet countryside. The house is near a train station which takes you to Florence in 15 min. There is also a hiking path just outside the house where you can walk to Fiesole. The house was clean and the kitchen was well equipped.
Tomasso was wonderful and easy to contact. A short bus ride allows escape from tourism with access within 15 or so minutes. Washer was a plus as well as bigger fridge. Will definitely come back next time we visit Fiesole/Firenze!
Apartment with everything you need. Nice restaurants in fiesole. Location and view stunning. Bus into Florence cheap and easy - no need to use car. Tomasso was absolutely great and kept in touch with all details needed.
The host, Eleonora was super warm and friendly. Everything was perfect. It is super clean, the breakfast was very tasty, especially the scrambled egg with Fiesole olive oil.
Definitely recommend to stay here.
The kids (5 & 9) loved the animals and the pool. That was so much fun for them. The location was nice as it wasn’t far from Florence at all. The staff was very friendly.
Location, room, food, overall ambiance were all wonderful and the pricing was reasonable for the hotel. It was one of the best parts of our trip to Italy.
