We ate all our delicious meals at the lodge - no need to go anywhere, just relax. Kuma's mother was such a kind woman. We received a very warm welcome with homemade juices and excellent service. Kuma was a very helpful host and organized the safari, visit to the elephant calf orphanage. He was very honest and transparent about everything that was important to us. Amazing value for money. Clean room with moskito net and AC. We had a welcome drink upon arrival and ordered dinner for the evening, which was also very good and plenty of food. Kuma organized a safari for us the next day. It was absolutely amazing! We had a long tour and breakfast was set up in a nice little campsite like a place in the jungle. We choose this property because of its location to the national park and the excellent safari reviews here. The room was spacious with good air conditioning, large bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities. They arranged our safari with our guide Nuwan, who is passionate about the park and animals, well-versed in flora and environment, and respectful of animals and the environment. If you are visiting Udawalawe, I highly recommend staying at Kuma Safari Lodge. The rooms were clean and perfect Furnished with comfortable beds and food, delicious ... the curry cooked by Ravidu's mom, her safari breakfast was rated one of the best in my entire trip! Kuma went out of his way to ensure my stay was perfect with the baby elephant arriving at the orphanage the evening before our safari. The lodge is very well located, 5 minutes from the park, which meant we were the first jeep at sunrise. On safari, Ravidu shared his keen knowledge of animals and birds, and was respectful in locating and viewing them. It was wonderful to see the elephants in their natural habitat, a morning I will never forget! The family made me feel welcome and it was a real treat to share their jungle lodge. The facility is cool and is located near the Elephant Transit House (about 3 minutes). We did a half day safari tour. It was great. If you are not in a hurry I would suggest taking this experience. It starts at 6 am and ends at 1 pm. You will explore the Udawalawe National Park in a jeep (toyota hilux). Breakfast is served in the garden. It's totally worth it. The owners are hospitable and polite. You can also ask to have your clothes washed. Breakfast and dinner are awesome with big portion.Gappil
