Terrific front staff. Harry was very polite, informative and helpful. He even helped me carry my bags. He went out of his way to ensure all was good for my stay

Friendly Host very clean convenient for visiting The Hague. Ideal for walking as there is a country park nearby and Rijswijk itself has several restaurants in the old centre.

The location and bed.
The large bearded gentleman at valley parking went above and beyond and made (best staff at hotel).

NOT AS DESCRIBED ON THE WEBSITE, EXACT OPPOSITE, DIRTY, OLD, STINKY!
Liked · Unfortunately NOTHING AT ALL!
The only good thing was the receptionist had spoken English & tried to guide me to the property.
Disliked · I paid for the room online over the Booking.com. The pictures of the property on the website were neat & looked tidy!
But as i have arrived it was exact the opposite!
The receptionist had to guide me to the property on the phone as at the time major renovation was in progress & scaffolding were placed in front of the property, which made it difficult to locate.
The area where the hotel is based, looked rough, the carpets in the lobby were stinky & to finish the experience off, my room has been already sold to someone else, even though I have paid for it online!
I got a cash refund & went out upset, as i driven for 3 days & was desperate to rest & now I was left to look for a room to sleep, last minute prices & availability in a city late night are a challenge for a tired traveller!
Very Disappointing!
The hotel is located in the historic old park (Hoevevoorde estate) to walk or jog in the mornings, has tennis courts and brasserie/restaurant, and few conference rooms - good value. It is rather basic, but clean and has prompt room service. The breakfast bar is serving continental breakfast for 15 euros - pretty standard. The staff was friendly.
There is a "bunker museum" in the park (apparently closed) - the bunkers were used as command point during WW2.
The check-in was smooth. The staff were helpful whenever I had a question or asked for assistance. The room was quite spacious. I paid just under 200 Euros for a three-night stay for two people. This was a better price per person per night than hostels in Den Haag or Rotterdam. It is very easy to get to Den Haag or Delft by train from Rijswijk. The hot water supply was good and the water pressure was good. The beds were comfortable enough.
It is a pretty cute and cool location with a small nearby shopping street incl. grocery store, pubs, and a couple restaurants. The apartment was very nice with natural light, full kitchen, plants, and lots of space. Felt more like being home than a hotel or B&B. Staff was very friendly and how to say : it was overall very private (no one really there).
I booked with confirmation Bastion Hotel Rijswijk.
When I arrived at the hotel they told me they did not receive the confirmation.
They would not give me a room.
There are no available local hotels.
I am stuck on the streets tonight.
Booking.com you cannot charge me for this booking and I expect some kind of compensation.
Regards,
L
The location in the park is lovely, lots of bird song, and great ambiance in the brasserie at the weekend. It is convenient to get to the tram, to get into the city centre. We stayed here to go to parkrun at Zuiderpark - which is really easy to get to on foot from the hotel. The brasserie menu is good.
We like the facilities of the hotel with water boiler and coffee machine and a refrigerator.
2 water bottles are also provided.
But it seems that not the same facilities offered in every room. We have booked three rooms, in one of the rooms there is no coffee machine.
Big room with microwave and small fridge, looked very nice.
Pet friendly, green areas next to the building.
Tram / bus station few minutes to walk, easy to get to the city center.
Limited parking spaces on the premise, but managed to get the place on the property.
The hotel is really nice, situated in the middle of a park. Hotel has a big cosy patio with a nice restaurant. Beds are very comfortable. Stuff is very nice and helpfull.
Breakfast costs 9.5euro, but I didn't use this option, so no opinin about it.
The interior of the hotel is really special, brings a unique vibe. Parking in the neighbourhood is available and you can arrange the parking payment at the reception. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean and big room.
Extremally nice and very helpull hotel stuff. Very spacious rooms with interesting design. Awesome restaurant/chilling space.
Perfect place for short and longer stay.
Next time visiting Haag we will book this place for sure :)
Everything was perfect for our date night!
From the welcome, to the room, the wellness center and dinner.
The special treatment given to my dog was the cherry on the cake :)
I discovered a new favourite hotel!
The hotel and its rooms are exactly what I was looking for: cheap and functional! I’ve been a returning guest for the past 4 months now and Harry is always gladly welcoming me back and aiding me. Great chap!
Friendly Host very clean convenient for visiting The Hague. Ideal for walking as there is a country park nearby and Rijswijk itself has several restaurants in the old centre.
