The accommodation was immaculate and everything was thought of. Even nice and warm with the kettle boiled when we arrived. As they knew it was my husband's birthday there was even a wee cake for him! Lovely dark night skies to enjoy the stars. Super friendly hosts.

It is spotless and well maintained. All facilities are of a very high standard well above the level of most Backpackers lodges I have stayed at. It was so cosy warm, I only slept with a top sheet covering me.

This is a farming commercial area close to the Waitomo Caves and cave worms tour. The town is basically two main roads with a few restaurants, stores, supermarket and other services. There is a train stop. We did not use the train for travel. It is only 15 minutes to Waitomo Caves and a good place to start exploring the cliffs along the Pacific Ocean further south.AnthonyCanada - 10Scored 10

Cool little township with lots of yummy eateries, shopping & supermarkets. A few memorabilia statues to get pix with. The information centre is very helpful & informative with souvenir Nic Nacs to purchase as well.

The Waitomo Caves is a must-see, and there are other attractions close by. We grabbed lunch at the Waitomo General Store which is more than just a store.The Cafe and menu selection is amazing and very reasonably priced. The garden at the cottage was amazing to explore. Te Kuiti has a fantastic Indian Takeaway with a wide range of menu options including a traditional Chicken Tikka Marsala and a toandoor oven to make Naan. Only problem was that we arrived on a weekend and a lot of restaurants nad safes were closed and no shops open (this is normal in New Zealand country areas but not where we come from in Australia). Ladies in the inforamtion centre were very helpful.

The town is very pretty, clean and tidy. The cafe on the right as you drive in is absolutely amazing! Excellent friendly service and food delicious. The New World staff were so helpful and friendly. A very peaceful place.

We stayed overnight en route from Auckland to New Plymouth...
We stayed overnight en route from Auckland to New Plymouth so saw little of Te Kuiti, but we saw beauty in the surrounds. We don't recommend taking the bypass route missing Hamilton on a rainy night!

My partner and I have been on a road trip for 5days and it was such a great choice to stop there. The friendly lady at the reception was helpful as we were able to do our washing and drying for free. She also took our breakfast order which was convenient for us as it came on time too. The food places in the area are also delicious. Bedding was comfortable and clean!! The bathroom was quite small - narrow actually. Partial kitchen facilities but limited. The hotel will make breakfast for you if you notify them in time the previous day. The restaurant meals were excellent, great steak and burgers and they were very accommodating for my vegetarian partner. The room itself was a little basic and showing its age, but perfectly comfortable and warm with kitchenette, tv, and private bathroom so the important things were there.
