We actually did not get to stay here. We received a call a few days prior to info us this hotel was closed for winter and that our stay was transferred to their sister hotel next door, the Te Waonui Forest Retreat. We were given an "upgrade" but can't tell what the difference was. The staff were really nice and helpful and the hotel was generally comfortable and clean.

Lovely room with view out over gardens and pond, and what was probably beautiful scenery which due to the weather we could not see. The included continental style breakfast was very nice. The young German lady Fransisca who appeared to do everything at the hotel was really lovely, helpful and friendly, a great front of house asset.
