Very nice place! The staff was very friendly and even provided access to a private WiFi for a video call. The view from the room and restaurant was just amazing and we were very happy with the breakfast (fresh orange juice, local cheese and pastries, very good bread). We had dinner at the restaurant on the first night, which was also delicious and I think the price was also fair for what was offered. The jacuzzi, pool and gym were also nice.
The ecological Real Abadia Congress & Spa Hotel lies between Serra de Aire e Candeeiros and the city of Alcobaça.

This hotel, in a beautifully renovated part of a centuries-old monastery, was one of the loveliest hotels I've ever stayed in. The renovation has been expertly done, and respects the architecture and feel of the monastery, and the interior decoration and furnishings complement the architecture. The location is perfect, the staff more than helpful, the room spotless, and both dinner and breakfast delicious.
In the historic village of Aljubarrota, this charming guest house offers a quiet and welcoming atmosphere. It features an outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi. The Monastery of Alcobaça is 5 km away.

Alcobaça is a great village to visit, I have been there several times, and there is always something different to do for a weekend trip.
António Padeiro as the best portuguese cuisine restaurant, requires a lot of appetite, ideal for lunch times, along with Prattus that is also very good.
Osaka a japanese restaurant for any meal that is very above average with a lot of choices.
Places to visit there is the Monastery in the center of the village, the medievel walls, the street fairs, Alcoa river garden, just being in a coffe lounge and relaxing is great.
A lot to do if you feel like, if there is time to.
Also, near Nazaré and all the sea uniqueness of that area.

I recommend staying at least a complete week-end just for Alcobaça. It's monastery deserves an inside visit, trying to explore all the compound with the help of their guide. Very good and extended offer of restaurants of every kind (some excepcional), and the convent sweets are imprescindible to try. If you have time, there's a lot more to visit and explore on the surroundings, and why not Nazaré?

The Monastery - and especially its kitchen! - is quite unique and definitely worth a visit. Not too big or tiresome to walk around, with a few fine buildings, Alcobaça boasts some fine pastries, pottery and embroidery and is very well situated, close to other sightseeing venues worth the short trip (Óbidos, Nazaré and S. Martinho do Porto beaches, Ourém castle, Fátima). Despite being normally sunny, it can get pretty cold and damp at night due to the fact that it is located in a depression between two rivers.
The breakfast was lovely, and the property was very quiet and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. We had a wonderful time. In driving distance there are very interesting things to visit like Mosteiro da Batalha (30 minutes drive), Nazeré (20 minutes drive) and Grutas de Mira de Aire (45 minutes drive), all very well worth a visit!! We also had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, and it was great. Typical portuguese food well prepared.
This was the most amazing hotel with superb, friendly and helpful staff. My wife and I loved this place and wished we could have stayed a week instead of just three nights. The room was large and superb with a comfortable bed and luxury bathroom. Beautiful views of the gardens and Monastery. The breakfast was excellent and the public rooms well appointed. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. First Class. Thank you. Secure parking on site was free.
The architecture is stunning in this historic hotel! Our room was spacious and comfortable! Our bathroom was large with a great shower. Breakfast had a wide variety of food to choose from—several cakes, meats, cheeses, fruit, bread, rolls, muffins, eggs, bacon, juices, fried mushrooms, beans, etc., The server was very attentive, quickly removing finished plates, etc. This breakfast buffet is a special one and well recommended!
A little gem in the Alcobaça region. Near Fatima as well as the ocean. Lina was a fabulous host, and helpful with recommendations on where to eat. We finally ate at the Restaurante António Padeiro, a Michelin-rated venue. What a pleasant surprise.
The casualness of the place gave the place its charm. Would definitely recommend it!
Lovely hotel situated with views over the countryside down to Nazare. The public areas, restaurant and bar are relaxing with large windows that make the most of the views and the rooms spacious and very comfortable. We didn’t use the spa facilities so cannot comment but each room had a nice sheltered patio to watch the sunset.
Hostess very friendly (like staying with your Mom), accommodation is rooms in her large house. Breakfast very good including homemade jam. Parking very easy directly in front of the house. Location convenient for sightseeing in the area just a few minutes from Alcobaca Monastery.
Beautifully maintained and peaceful hotel where you are treated like friends or family. Use as a base for seeing other areas nearby ok just walk and enjoy this little town. Great food and the staff at Challet for out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
loved the location at facilities at site. The staff were welcoming and helpful. the breakfast buffet was delicious (even provided plant milk, thanks!), and the surroundings of the hotel were picturesque and quiet. Oh and the rooms are super comfy and clean.
The room was very spacious with AC, extra pillows. The breakfast was diverse enough, with quality products.
Staff were overall very competent and friendly, always available to help and clarifying in any doubt.
The SPA personel were awesome!
A lovely place to stay. The room, the breakfast and 5 min walking to the Alcobaça monastery. Pedro is amazing and made our stay perfect. We definitely recommend for a short or a long vacation.
A hostel better than a hotel, with a beautiful room directly overlooking the monastery, in the city center, a terrace, and a shared, fully equipped kitchen. What more could you ask for?
Stayed at the hotel for a one night stopover. Great breakfast. Nice room. We enjoyed the stay. Restaurants are outside walking distance, so bring a car or a full belly ;-)
Staying perched above the beautiful town of Alcobaca was a privilege. Seeing the monastery in all its moods… vibrant blue sky, morning mist, sunset… was wonderful.
The hotel is comfortable even if a little tired looking. Breakfast room was very nice - been refurbished and the view was brilliant. Good stay for the price.
Absolutely amazing location (right in the center of alcobaca) and terrace with a side-view to the monastary. The personell went above and beyond to help us.
Lovely contained villa, clean and tidy. Had a full length mirror with was great - you don’t get that very often sadly. Hotel its self was nice and clean.
The room and accomodations. It was the third time visiting this hotel and this time it was a very lousy experience, very low standards for a 4 star hotel.
