Property was very clean, staff all very kind and welcoming. The bedrooms are cozy and organised, and The hotel itself is very well set up and has lovely interior. A lot of restaurants and cafes within the hotel with brilliant service fantastic views.

The location, the property, the swimming pool, the staff, who could not have been more helpful.

Room was clean, warm, and very cosy, with an amazing view over the valley. Bed was comfortable with ample pillows and blankets. Nice hot shower. Not once did I feel chilled, which is amazing considering the rainy mountain weather in the winter. A lot of snacks provided in the room. Lovely local animals. The buildings are very nice. It was very, very windy one night and there was no draft! Amazing. The village is incredibly quiet at all times, and perfect to just enjoy nature. You feel distant from busy cities, and in fact, you are. There's no quick drive to Burger King around here. Perfect for people seeking solitude and escape. Easy walking distance (10-15 minutes) to Aigra Nova, and there are hiking trails of things to see around the area. Parking was no issue, and the walk down the steep hill to the room was not that bad, even in the rain. Breakfast was okay, and it's very necessary to take advantage of it as there is no kitchen, no cafes or minimarkets nearby. It wasn't spectacular or a lot of variety, and everything is cold, but the food was fresh, the bread was very good, and it was nice and relaxing to sit in the loft and eat on a foggy morning. The honey and applesauce was to die for! The little shop has great prices for souvenirs too. You can drive to breakfast or walk. The staff were AMAZING. If it wasn't for them, I don't think this experience would have been so enjoyable. They are all so friendly and welcoming, and have excellent English (if you don't speak Portuguese well). And they made sure to have the heat on before I arrived which was a wonderful touch that I really appreciated. In my experience, it's rare for accommodations to do that for their guests.

Lovely location, hosts were very friendly. Loved the waterfalls and nature, great trails everywhere. Super chilled enviroment and lovely peaceful ambience.

When we arrived, the host placed us in Casa da Urze 3 as it was just me and my girlfriend and we did not need the extra bed that Casa da Urze 2 had. We were both still very happy with this! The house was incredibly cute and cosy - had a view over the mountains, a lovely fireplace that we lit every night (and which warmed up the house wonderfully and we had a fresh bucket of logs and pine cones to use every evening), we had a TV where we could pair up with my laptop and watch films, the bathroom was pretty and absolutely clean as well, the kitchen had everything we needed, the breakfast that was included was small but filling enough (and we could always ask for an extra bit of bread & etc), the lunch food cooked by the host was delicious, the hosts themselves were very nice and caring and always available, and to finish off, Talasnal is an absolute picturesque gem of a place to come spend a few days in, hiking around through the beautiful natural routes nearby and disconnecting from the busy routine we all feel overwhelmed by from time to time! I will absolutely love to come here again, thank you so much to Casa da Urze and its hosts for this wonderful experience, it was a pleasure!

Well what can I say. The village is wonderful. Such a unique experience to stay there. I stayed in Casa do Sol and it was perfect. Loved having the upstairs balcony. Had everything you needed for self catering but they do have a lovely cafe and Carole and Lily were so friendly. They were the two staff I saw every day I was there but everyone was so friendly. Breakfast was perfect every morning and Lily made the most amazing cakes each day I was there. The is also a small, gallery/shop (albeit quite limited) so if like me you used public transport to get there you do need to pick up provisions before you get there. Easy enough to do by public transport (I came from Porto so train, bus and taxi) so don't let not having a car put you off going!! The staff are happy to call the taxi company to arrange pick up as unless you speak Portuguese it can be a bit tricky to get a taxi. I was lucky enough to do the minature schist house building course with Rita and it was a perfect way to end my holiday .. and the house survived the trip back in my suitcase. The owners were very sweet and tried to accommodate us.

Really beautiful place with an amazing view and charming location. It has all the amenities you might need. The local cats were adorable and suddenly hearing the wild boars outside was also a fun experience.
