Great location and easy to find. Walking distance to the town of Ferndale. It was raining when we were there so we didn’t walk around the gardens but it looked really nice.

No one told me about the breakfast. Location was perfect for me. South to the Humboldt Redwoods and north to Eureka. Was clean and relatively quiet. Felt secure traveling alone and did use the laundry mat as I had been on the road for 10 days and timing was right.
The 100 percent smoke free Comfort Inn Humboldt Bay is located just minutes from the Sequoia Park Zoo, Humboldt State University and College of the Redwoods.
Ferndale is a beautiful town. Full of history and architecture. Its also a great jumping off point to explore the whole region, We visited redwoods, kayaked, ate at the Samoan cookhouse, visited the local cemetery, the Carson Mansion, the Sky Walk and the coast. Its a beautiful place to walk or drive.

Fans of Old West history will want to dig down into the historic downtown of "Cream City." We didn't have time to explore The Ivanhoe Hotel, but admired it as the oldest hotel in the west and its looks as the model for every western movie ever seen. The "modern" Victorian Inn kitty-corner from the Ivanhoe, on the other hand, is a dazzling vision of late-1800's frou-frou with the nicest dinner we've had in ages, and we get around a bit: REAL paella loaded with shellfish, chicken and linguica, a lovely baked brie with cranberry-poached apricots, and a fine bottle of Portuguese varietal wine. Passed a very attractive Mexican restaurant, but no time to try it. The downtown is a pleasant mix of surviving local businesses and new boutiques featuring some beautiful artisanal ironwork and pottery. Some amazing house-types to soak up for historians of architecture, too, in a lovely lush setting against a set of piney hills.

We picked the Shaw because it has a ground floor room for handicap except you had to climb shaird to get to it. This Inn is cluttered with dust collectors, just to many !! Won't recommend the inn to anyone.

World class music at The Old Steeple!
World class music at The Old Steeple! Everything is in easy walking distance. Several restaurants to choose from, I've eaten at the pizza place and the Mexican place, both are very good. Besides Main Street shopping, the museum is very interesting. Wonderful backroads to check out in all directions, it's the gateway to the Lost Coast. Take your dog to the riverbank by the bridge over the Eel River at Fernbridge, or Centerville Beach.

The town was interesting and enjoyable.
The town was interesting and enjoyable. The business stores closed at 4/5 pm. The bars and restaurants (all three) were open later. There are many sights to see in the area but I wasn't able to enjoy as I was there mainly for business. The town needs another restaurant that serves breakfast and fresh made lunch until 2pm.
It's small-town Americana at the Victorian Inn in Ferndale. Innkeepers Lowell and Jenny were exceptional hosts, and made us feel very welcome and at home. The rooms were larger than expected for an old hotel. Our room was upstairs, and there was a nice sitting room on the 2nd floor with a lounge area, games, and a Kerig coffee maker. A grab-and-go breakfast was available in the morning (a great option for those on the go) but they welcomed us to stay and eat in the restaurant/bar.
This is an absolutely amazing place! It has 11 bedrooms which are all lovingly decorated in period style with beautiful old furniture. The downstairs is spacious with several lovely rooms for guests to enjoy. Every room has fresh flowers and period decor. The afternoon tea and wine were an added bonus and the breakfast was delicious. In addition, the town of Ferndale is a gem. Don’t miss this place!
This is the oldest house in Ferndale and an essential part of the Ferndale history. Staying in this accommodation is like taking a step back in time. The amenities have been updated an each room is decorated to fit it's theme. There is full access to tee and coffee 24/7. The grounds of the property are gorgeous. The house is very clean and the beds are extremely plush.
No breakfast included. Room wax spacious and clean and was in the hills over Ferndale. Very quiet. Deer came through the yard with two fawns. Very relaxing spot. Owners friendly and were there to answer any questions or available if anything was needed. Microwave and kitchenware and fridge were very useful. Good ventilation.
This is a lovely property built before the Civil War and carefully maintained. My bathroom had been updated to modern conveniences. Otherwise, it’s still in an original looking state with. Furniture carpeting and decoration. The breakfast included was wonderful and I highly recommend that you stay here for a visit to Ferndale.
Beautiful old home with antique furnishings on the main street in Ferndale, CA. The grounds were lovely with many large old trees and flowers. Our room had an antique bed and clawfoot tub. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. It was a beautiful B&B, and we would definitely stay again.
The location is good, the staff was friendly and the room was clean. My 11 yr old granddaughter got a kick out of it. She had never stayed in an historical building before. It was a fun experience for her. Overall it's a beautiful hotel and the rooms are nicely decorated.
The hotel was immaculate and the staff were so lovely and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and catered to our needs (one vegetarian). It was the most special place that we’ve ever stayed and we will 100% be back in the future!
Lovely building in the quaint town of Ferndale. Nice size room with a large bathroom. Spotty internet in the room but the common area had the router and we were able to work our devices there.
Great location in a beautiful small town. Very historic building that is well kept and quite different from other hotels. Loved our room and the staff was wonderful. Peaceful and quiet.
Ambience, cleanliness, location (Ferndale is beautiful). Shaw House Inn has preserved its character well. Paula also provides lots of books and local information if you need it.
Comfortable accommodations in a great location near downtown Ferndale. Breakfast was delicious and substantial.
The host was very friendly and accomodating to our needs.
Great location overlooking the quaint town of Ferndale, an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The lodging was comfortable and the Danish theme was a charming environment.
Place is amazing and looks like old Victorian hotel in UK. A lot of decoration and unique room (well, with bathtub which is in the room). But I liked it!
Amazing hospitality, cozy room walkable right into town. Delicious treats baked daily for guests! Highly recommend for anyone looking to visit Ferndale!
