Riverview Lodge, hotel in Hood River

This lodge is within a 5-minute drive of the Hood River and the Columbia River. The property features rooms with microwaves and refrigerators.

I was traveling alone with my 3 little Yorkies and was very grateful they allowed us to stay the night. The staff placed me in a room that was on the lower level close to the pet area which was truly appreciated and made it convenient for me to take the dogs out. Thank you to the lady that booked me in that night and I will definitely come back.

Could hear water running from upstairs room, made me think the toilet was running but it wasn't. There wasn't enough coffee and no breakfast at all. Only the expensive river view rooms are "pet friendly". The grounds were beautiful, lot's of walking paths and little niches. Room was clean and comfortable, not overly large. Deck was nice.

Unknown, to me, there was a big convention Iin town, so the hotel prices were jacked up, almost double, than it should have been. Besides that, Hood River was great. Bend, Oregon, I prefer over Hood River.

Beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge!

Beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge! Worth a trip across the bridge to White Salmon, Washington which is the Supernatural Capital of the Pacific Northwest! You can drive west along the river to cross back at the Bridge of the Gods where Charles Lindbergh flew his plane below the bridge. Fun to see the amphibious biplane at the harbor and the salmon fishing. Mount Hood and vineyards nearby. Loved Grateful Vineyard about 20 minutes out of town, with orchards and vines and great pizza with a view of Mount Hood. The Stone Hedge Garden restaurant has beautiful outdoor gardens, a historic house setting and delicious food. We drove all the way back from Portland to dine there a second time on the last night of our trip. We are seasoned travelers and loved this place.

Hood River is an old town and in the past few years has become known for kiteboarding, wind-sailing, etc. There are lots of pubs and breweries. There are hiking trails, vineyards, wineries, lavender fields, and orchards all within a few miles. Downtown has many shops to visit. Many places are dog friendly.

We stayed one night to go fishing at Drano Lake the next day. The room isn't anything special with the usual amenities with nice comfortable beds. I do not recommend staying with children as the walls are quite thin and you can hear everything. Customer service is not existent with mediocre check-in process.

We stayed for one night and it was a clean and comfortable room. From the road it doesn't look like much but the rooms were nice. I appreciated the comfort of the bed and the room had nice hardwood floors. The room wasn't very big but it was big enough and met all our expectations. I was pleasantly surprised how quite it was and we had a nice view of the garden behind the hotel. Location made it easy to get into downtown and drive the through the area exploring the fruit stands and shops. Overall a nice little place to stay.

The owner and host of Inn at the Gorge, Michael, was very friendly and personable. We started off our morning with coffee and a delicious breakfast, and Michael shared sights for us to explore, as well as nearby restaurants. He told us about a hike to a waterfall across the Columbia River that was fabulous. We enjoyed staying at the inn, and with only 6 rooms, it had a cozy feel. There was a lovely front porch, and the location in Hood River, Oregon was perfect. It was a wonderful place to stay, and a beautiful city to visit.

We had a fabulous view of the gorge and river from up on a high cliff. The hotel’s landscaping was exceptional. We had a private balcony. It was quiet and peaceful. The room was spacious and tastefully appointed. I liked the pibe ceiling and wood beams. We had everything we needed, including a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, table and chairs, drawers, big closet area. I also liked the fact that the sink was separate from the toilet and shower/bath room.

Wow. Can't say enough about the staff here. I made the reservation with Booking.com (BIG mistake!) and it was listed as "and xxx" as my last name. Diligent searching found my pre-paid reservation. Whew! GREAT location and amazing view of the river. We're minutes from downtown Hood River and right on the roads to everywhere. Don't skip the restaurant. Just enjoyed a cured egg yolk shaved on top of my egg white omelet and avocado toast!

The hotel is lovingly renovated and is very quaint (not in a bad way!). Although our room was small the space was well used and comfortable. We travelled with our large GSD which is possibly why the room felt smaller -lol. The bed was very comfortable and inviting. The common area with the fireplace was lovely and welcoming. The staff went out of their way.
