There was nothing that I liked about this hotel, the staff was very unwelcoming and was unwilling to help with any reset that was made .
On arrival to the hotel there was mix up with the location on hotel as there was also another Holiday Express in Chester which all of our party was staying, we requested for a transfer to be with the rest our travelling companion and the Manager from the Chester hotel advised that this would have been ok to do, we also confirm this with booking .com who had also confirmed that it was ok to transfer the reservation .
On speaking to Irvine on the day we booked in he advised that he would not be able to transfer the reservation as he was unable to do this and did not have the authority and we would need to speak to a manager, there was no manners on site, he was quite rood. He gat no information about the time for breakfast or checking out or shout the hotel,
I the morning we went down for breakfast to be advised that we were too late and was only offered frail or a cup on tea on paper plates. We then went to see the manager Jennifer Haberie who was also very rood, without any empathy to our situation and was unwilling to transfer the reservation after explaining to her that we had received the confirmation from both the Holiday Inn Express in Chester and Booking . Com she was still unwilling to honour our request.
We were advised that they were a franchise so they would not transfer reservations , I advised surly if this is a franchise they would all have the same rules , answer we would not have been advised by one branch that the transfer could take place, and the other branch that they do not transfer reservations. Surly if they are part of the same franchise the basic rules would be the same
This unacceptable.

This hotel would be great for if you were traveling a distance and needed a last-minute place to stay, my in-laws stayed there for two weeks although the staff was fantastic there were some other things that needed to be taken care of. They did enjoy the stay in the hotel and in the room that they stayed in the other concerns with people being outside without masks you had to walk through them, and the broken lock on the door was mine and my husbands because they are in their 80s and we need to really make sure that they were going to be safe because they were traveling back-and-forth to Middletown to take care of their elderly brother. So it was a halfway mark between where they need to go and get easy access back home to the hotel because they flew in from North Carolina.

We enjoyed a couple of meals at the restaurants in Montgomery and a delicious breakfast at the Borland house. We were also fortunate enough to stay on a Thursday evening and were able to enjoy the live music at the gazebo!!!!
We did not like anything. The motel is in disrepair! There are panels missing in ceiling with wiring exposed in the hallway. Panels missing at the bottom of the walls in hallway, exposing pipes. The hallway and room smelled strongly of skunk weed. We did not stay longer than 5 min. The gentleman at the desk was very nice. Before I left I told him we couldn't stay. It was the worst motel/hotel I have ever checked into! We were afraid of bed bugs or rats! There was loud partying coming from the rooms. Awful, just awful.
The hotel was clean and quiet. The room was large and the beds were very comfortable. However, the room had an invasive smell of cigarette smoke that infiltrated our clothing and suitcases. We tried cranking up the fan to move air around but it didn’t help.
Pros: bathroom was clean, big rooms, big windows, comfy beds/pillows
Cons: cost was super high for the location and room, the cigarette smell was AWFUL.
The cleanliness of the hotel was incredible. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, I really needed quiet due to the holiday and the gentleman at the front desk ensured I had a room that would be quiet and peaceful.
Staff were friendly & there was actually a cooked, tasty, HOT breakfast which is sorely lacking in the Super 8 motel in Newburgh. The bed was a bit on the soft side but comfortable nonetheless & it was peaceful & quiet.
The price of was very good and the bed was comfortable. The person that greeted us at the front desk was nice and also accommodating as he needed to come down to help us operate the television that was not working.
the house was charming, lovely interior, comfortable, inviting sitting room. The hummingbird room was super cozy, the bathroom was very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was delicious.
