Everything was just perfect. Great location and forest around the property. Fantastic and caring staff making us feel like home. Home made breakfast with apples from the fruit trees on the property. The room that is more spacious then it seems on pictures. Comfy beds. And extra that support the staff provided to accommodate our late night arrival. Perfect landing in US after a long transatlantic flight from Europe. Strongly recommend.

Broadstreet Inn was beautiful. I stayed in the Carriage House and it was even better in person, beautifully decorated, clean and quaint. Great location. True to the claim it’s a 2 minute walk to Broad Street where there are shops, restaurants and bars. Really, really great place to stay.

Wow. This place was even better than it's description and photos. Picturesque. To have a balcony with a stream passing by and a close view of the flowing stream from bedroom window was a high point. Really lovely staff, efficient and caring. Comfortable bed and great room. Fab breakfast with loads of nice choices. 6 minute walk to Nevada City high street. Free off-road parking. Fully recommend. A real 10/10.

This is a charming historic Gold Mining town with an abundance of artists and musicians. There is a vibrant foodie scene and breweries, shops, and galleries. It is quaint and scenic. There are lots of outdoor areas to explore as well. Close to Nevada City are other fun little tourist towns - Grass Valley, Auburn, and others. We could have spent many more days here. Looking through the county tourist guide, I noted that there are many fun activities going on in the area all year long. So I would advise people to contact the Nevada county (California) tourism bureau online and request a catalogue to plan a fun vacation. If you like music as we do, there is a Bluegrass Festival here and both Nevada City and it's adjoining town Grass Valley both have fine performing arts centers that attract great musicians from all of the country and the world!

We didn;t spend any time in the city but if the city is anything like the motel we stayed in for one night we would never go back. We spent our time in Grass Valley and it was pleasant. People were friendly and helpful. we stayed our second night at the Grass Valley Court Yard Suites. We were very pleased with the accommodations and friendly people.

Quirky, fun Nevada City!
Quirky, fun Nevada City! So many great restaurants, bars, live music venues. We went there for a music festival. The renovated theatre in town is beautiful. The people of this city really care about their town and while there is easy access to hiking and other rural charms it is sophisticated in a way I cannot really put my finger on. I grew up in a Nevada City area so I’m familiar with the environs and enjoyed the zen additions to the landscaping… typical pine forest with a bit of added eye appeal. The Queen Suite, where we stayed on the second night, was all that I expected it to be… well appointed and relaxing. I understand that a number of other rooms available are similar… but not all.

The room smelled like dog poo and the people next door were smoking weed and taking drugs. We felt very unsafe. We told the manager we were leaving and he did not concern himself as to why we were making our departure. To ad insult to injury they changed us for the stay.
