Nothing. No one was there to meet us. He had to telephone someone to open the doors. Then the Wi-Fi didn’t work. It worked if we were on the balcony. We were told breakfast was at 7. It was at 8 and was all cold food. We were told it started at 7 and there would be hot food. Like eggs. There were not. The ac didn’t work. It was hot. Sleeping was difficult.

The hostess Enza made wonderful recommendations for side trips and dining. She was very patient with our poor Italian! The apartment was very well equipped and clean with an amazing balcony!

Rosanna and her Mother were fabulous hosts. Her Mother gave us a detailed tour of her amazing flower and vegetable gardens, whereas Rosanna served up a special breakfast consisting of homemade pastries and served in the garden. Just lovely. The room had a spacious balcony.

The staff, food, apartment, the beautiful gardens, cleanliness, location, hospitality. There is nothing not to like. I have stayed at the B&B nine times since 2014. It is definitely my paradise. Biagio, Francesca, Demetrio, and Kevin, along with help from Massimo, are the kindest, most gracious, helpful, attentive hosts - better than any place I have ever stayed.
B&B Villa sul Mare offers accommodations in Melito di Porto Salvo. All rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV. Some rooms have views of the mountains or garden.

Melito di Porto Salvo was not one of the desired stops in our driving tour of beautiful Calabrian towns (I Borghi piu belli d'Italia) but rather simply an overnight stop between two clusters of those towns. It is not, in our view, an especially beautiful town. Similarly, we booked Villa Sul Mare simply as a serviceable en route accommodation and our expectation aligned with reality. It is serviceable but not, again in our view, a destination accommodation. It's a 7; does the job but best suited for a one-night stay.
