The moment you step foot in the cozy 'lobby', you are made to feel right at home. It feels more like visiting a distant relative, than checking into a hotel. We arrived after regular check-in time, and still we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and chatted for half an hour - what a difference to what you are used to. This approach directly set the tone for the rest of the stay, and I have not come across a better combination of privacy and luxury, and such a personal touch. During the whole stay, the hosts were super helpful, friendly and could not have made us feel more welcome. The rooms are nicely decorated, beds very comfortable, the view is phenomenal and the breakfast is extensive. It was a lovely experience having it served in the room, with a view over Mariazell and the valley. We had some special requests, and they were more than fulfilled, making this a truly memorable weekend. From the hotel, you get to the center of Mariazell within minutes on foot, but getting to the hotel by car is equally easy, making it a great starting point for excursions into the region.

Located in Mitterbach, 38 km from Hochschwab, Gasthof zum Sessellift provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Amazingly helpful personnel - they helped us a lot even with things that were unrelated to the accommodation. Nice and spacious room. Breakfast included, dinner possible in the restaurant.

Featuring a spa and Finnish sauna, infrared cabin, wellness shower, tea bar, realaxation area and a sunny terrace with a view of Gemeindealpe. The room was beautiful and clean. I appreciate the rich breakfast, including eggs served in different ways. The wellness area with a terrace overlooking the surrounding mountains was also amazing.

Just 500 metres from the Bürgeralpe Ski Area, JUFA Hotel Erlaufsee is next to a sports centre 2 km from the centre of Mariazell. A spa area is available. Location is exceptional, both Erlaufsee and Mariazell is a walk away (<2km), breakfast and dinner buffet are versatile, fresh, well rounded and fairly priced. All but one employee were exceptionallly kind, helpfull, invested in the client. Interior rooms were great, as well as exterior. Gym has modern and well rounded machines offer. Not cheapest hotel, but not overpriced for the above mentioned. Will come back again. Especially if any aktions appear :-)

JUFA Hotel Mariazell is located 3 km from Mariazell and offers a large indoor pool, bowling alleys, a toboggan run, and a large garden with a terrace. A breakfast buffet and free parking are... I like the location in quite part of the village. Great family hotel very kind people, great breakfast.

Family-run for 5 generations, Hotel Drei Hasen is located in the centre of Mariazell, only 100 metres away from the world-famous Basilica and 50 metres away from the cable car. Great breakfast, both mornings. The second morning was a Monday and the restaurant was closed, but the owner made breakfast for us and another group in a side room. The owners went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. When we missed a bus to Mitterbach one morning he drove us there in his own car. Just fantastic service.

Offering a central location in Mariazell, just steps from the basilica, Hotel Himmelreich offers a beer garden, a restaurant, and an infrared cabin. Free WiFi is available in public areas. Nice and clean room, probably renovated lately. Hotel is located in the center of the city just above the church. Host is very helpful and offered a garage for bikes (for a 10 EUR fee). Dinner in the hotel restaurant was a decent one.
