We wanted a hotel a bit outside the town center, with a secure place for our car, and found just that, but we also found so much more. This is a quite family hotel, run by the most welcoming and friendly staff, from the women who welcomed us when we arrived to the owner couple serving us the best French breakfast you can desire. We were just driving through, and stayed just one night, but if you want to explore the Loire valley, Castel Fleuri in Tours is the place for you. We will return and do that!

Stunning building, the courtyard is an oasis of calm. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Could not be a more central location; you step out of the door on to one of the prettiest areas of Azay le Rideau. Rooms are simple but completely in keeping with the property. Great bed; shower - and surprisingly for the age of the building - wonderful aircon (it was 35 degrees the day we arrived). Breakfast is great, very chilled start to the day in the courtyard with a collection of fresh, local produce. Free parking nearby; 11kW EV charging nearby too (only one of two working though). Great start to a holiday - and a brilliant pit stop if you are driving further south.
