Nice hotel and location, was good for touring Angus. Disappointed in a number of small things - eg no croissants for breakfast or continental breakfast, no bottles of water in the room, no lounge for relaxing in. Room window was about one metre from the atrium of the hotel entrance and completely obliterated our view. When asked for preferences on booking we requested a golf course facing room but that was not allocated for us. Staff were courteous and well mannered.

We stayed for one night while visiting Angus for the Doors Open Weekend. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Montrose and the surrounding area. It is central, but also quiet. The hotel has a carpark with plenty of space. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. There was a good selection of food at breakfast.

Stayed in deluxe room, which was very comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. Staff members in the hotel were helpful and friendly. Everywhere was spotless. The location of the hotel is beautiful, two minutes from the sea and a good base for exploring Angus.

Lovely family run hotel. Very friendly and offered lots of ideas for things to do in Angus and beyond. Wide variety of mains for evening meals and tasty Scottish breakfast. Good location for exploring some of the surrounding attractions like Montrose Basin.

Room was nice and spacious. Friendly and efficient welcome and check in. Property is well kept and maintained. A nice location in Arbroath handy for the town. Also handy for walkers (I had been walking the Angus Coastal Trail)

Lovely, spacious, well equipped apartment. Comfortable, modern furnishing. Views overlooking the golf course and very good location for sightseeing in the Angus area.

Beautiful location, good base to explore the Angus glens. Nice breakfast, catered for gluten free. Pub food for evening meal is fine.

The outside of the Hotel was a bit deceiving it looked just like any other 3 star hotel BUT when you walk inside it is very very welcoming, cosy, clean, comfortable, spaceous, and beautifully decorated in traditional Scottish style. Our beds were very comfortable we all slept very well, no noise no disturbance very friendly housekeepers but what we loved the most was the breakfast and the friendly helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was more than I expected and you were full up by the time you finished, very clean very good quality food, any amount of options. The staff there could not do enough for us they worked so hard (we were at a wedding) and they still were kind and helpful right into the night having served us food early that same day I just cannot fault the staff and want to thank them for their hospitality. We loved Montrose too and we would love to come back, it's a perfect venue for a wedding, the wedding venue looked so cute and had doors that lead put onto a beautifully kept garden (Well done gardeners), the receptionist were super helpful always friendly, I highly recommend this hotel I would go as far to say it was the best hotel experience we as a family have ever had and I think it's because it's very down to earth, family orientated and non pretentious, love it.

Lodges are very spacious but so cosy. Well equipped with everything you need too. Resort is lovely, bar and restaurant offer nice food. Location handy for Dundee, Broughty Ferry and Carnoustie. Excellent value for money.

staff friendly pity pool wasn't open due to renovations

The privacy and relative remoteness. The underfloor heating and generous amount of logs for the log burner. The layout of the property & the facilities.

Roy, the owner and staff, were very friendly and polite. We ate in both nights and the food was great.. Mostly Indian food, but it was all delicious.There was also some European dishes also Location is only about 5 minutes' drive to the V&A museum,Discovery, and the city centre.. All and all, a pleasant stay. Dino

The rooms are large, really comfortable, very clean. Really lovely to stay in. The food in the restaurant was so good. Recommend staying here.

everything about the tavern was amazing. staying above the pub. everyone was friendly. nice food and beer. and above all live music on Thursday night. Absolutely wonderful!!

it’s comfortable and welcoming. The Cafè is excellent with plenty of vegan options. shame it’s closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
