The location is excellent the views out of this world, the staff are very friendly and will accommodate any requests, the highlight for me was the food, compliments to the chef, the menu was not pretentious but served classics dishes to the highest standard, was shone through was the quality of the ingredients that was the real highlight of the hotel.

The hosts Marion and Moray are very kind and welcoming, the rooms were perfectly tidy and clean and the breakfast was very good. We felt like being at home even though we were pretty close to the world's end

Although the yurt is well insulated, the central log fire made it extra cosy. The toilet block is your own private bathroom, just located at the end of the yard. An easy walk to the town’s pub and shop. A very unique experience that I highly recommend.

In fact, the most detailed set of information I've received from any of the properties I've stayed in while driving around the NC500. Lara put my mind at ease by informing about late check-in procedures, so I didn't have to rush on the road. Normally, I prefer not to share bathrooms and kitchens, but given the high demand for properties around the area at this time of the year, I was left with no other option. This wasn't a problem at all. Everything is super organized and pristine, from the communal kitchen, laundry room, toilets and showers. I opted for a single room, which was clean, comfortable and adequate after a whole day on the road. Appelcross Village and Heartfield are surrounded by rugged, yet peaceful settings, and I wish I had dedicated more time to this area.
