It's my third time in Galway. I stayed in a townhouse the first time, then in clontarf at Bram Stoker and now at the Connacht. I enjoyed my stay in Galway on all three occasions. Getting around in Galway is easy .
We stayed at The Connacht hotel, less than 10 minute bus ride into Galway Centre. Beautiful city, very clean, friendly people, large selection of shops and places to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed the hop on/off bus tour and the market.
Stayed at the Connacht Hotel. Got a bus into Eyre Square. Did some shopping listen to street entertainment. Great to walk around even with a 3 year old. Great Atmosphere good playground in Eyre Square for the children.
Used the Connacht hotel as a base to visit attractions including the Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty Castle. Drove into the city centre on one day, did some shopping, had a nice lunch in the Skeffington on Eyre Square and a great evening meal in the Huntsman Inn, a lovely spot!
City was buzzing, sell out Connacht rugby fixture, Christmas Market, live music in the streets and many of the pubs at night all free.
Everything is so close at hand. Everyone was so friendly. We stayed in the Connacht Hotel and we will definitely be returning there very soon! We ate in a beautiful little Italian restaurant called Venice which I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice relaxing authentic Italian dinning experience. Also the Nutella Crepes from Gino Gelsto's are an absolute MUST. Located just opposite the Dunnes Store just off Ayre Square.
Excellent place to visit, very friendly & laid back atmosphere. Safe city to walk around. Good day trips away from Galway to explore further afield. Connemara, Kylemore Abbey & Aran Islands all worth a visit whilst you are in Galway. Plenty of bars & places to eat to suit all budgets. Everything within walking distance. Good for sport too, Connacht Rugby, Galway United Football & Greyhound racing..
Galway is the center of Connacht province. You can visit the city in one day and the rest should be definitely spent somewhere in the nature. Galway tour company and Lally tours agency offer great tours to Kylemore Abbey, Cliffs of Moher, Burren natural park and Aran islands. All those places are definitely worth a visit! Cliffs of Moher is a nature miracle! Aran islands are famous for their stone fences. Just imagine that the islands are a few kilometers long but the stone fences are 5-6.000 km! Unbelievable! If you are looking for a good restaurant, try John Keogh's - the lock keeper. Steaks and oysters are great!
We arrived when the Salmon festival was on and the heritage day on the 12th July. The town was buzzing and we enjoyed the atmosphere. People are very friendly, we had lovely Guinness in Harrison's bar. We visited the Connacht Whiskey Company enjoyed the tour and the tasting!.
I love the atmosphere in Galway. We went for the Christmas markets. We stayed in the Connacht Hotel. Galway is a great spot for shopping. But also for night life.

A friendly member of staff meet us on arrival and showed us around. The place was clean and tidy the room had an onsuit there was towels, shower gels & shampoos supplied. The bed was comfortable. There is food there in the kitchen and a dinner area, you can help yourself. There is parking at the location. The local bus link is a few minutes walk away. Takes you right into Eyre square Galway. It pass the Cnnacht hotel Huntsman bar, Connacht rugby sportsground,
The room was quite large, which was lovely. I loved the receptionist with the short hair. She was so so helpful and very understanding. There is a lime bike parking spot only 4 mins away which makes it a lot easier to get up and down to town and harbour. I had a lovely stay.
I can not praise the hotel enough. I would particularly recommend rhe West restaurant. It was excellent with a special acknowledgement of our server Oisin. Food, service, ambience , decor, value were perfect. An amazing tasting menu. Just wonderful all round
The Lodge way exceeded our expectations, its almost value for money (inspite of it not being cheap) because of so much to do around the place
The best breakfast we’ve had during our month long stay in Ireland.
Beautiful room with great seaview
The room was lovely and the staff so welcoming.
We had a gorgeous stay at the G to celebrate our engagement. We were greeted by a super friendly receptionist when we arrived & were treated to welcome drinks and a room upgrade when we arrived which was fabulous. We got a chance to relax in the lounge area with our drinks and a piano player performing while our bags were brought to our room. The lounge areas, bars and restaurants were lovely, as was the breakfast & breakfast staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the thermal suite and relaxation room which we chose to add on to our stay. The room was lovely & had a nice view of the lake. We also had a lovely surprise of a dessert plate, card and congratulations balloon in our room when we got in which was such a gorgeous touch on top of everything else.
Beautiful rooms, beautiful location.
smart and staff very organised
Effort to merge two different booking into one and avoid changing rooms in the middle.
The breakfast was exceptional. The cooked breakfast was delicious - especially the sausages - and the wide variety on the buffet table meant we tried something new every day. The staff were quick to seat us and bring us tea and coffee, providing superb service all week.
Breakfast, spacious room great location.
staff were amazing, room was fabulous
The receptionist that checked us in was possibly one of the nicest I have encountered, she was super nice, very sweet and super helpful.
The facilities were amazing. Restaurant was super good. The gym and pool were of a very high standard. Our room was excellent. It was my husband's birthday and they had a special dessert plate sent up to the room. The grounds are awesome too. Lots of walks to appreciate nature
Nice modern hotel with good clean and well equipped rooms. Very pleasant bar area with polite, friendly and efficient staff. Underground parking that was locked at night for security. This is by far the nicest hotel we have stayed in for a while and was very reasonably priced for Dublin.
The owners and staff have made the stay in this wonderful building a whole experience.
