Wonderful location on a mountain side overlooking Akureyri, avoids the crowd but only a few minutes drive into the town. Thorsen, the owner, is always around and extremely helpful.

Robert, the receptionist was really funny and friendly, he showed us restaurants and places to visit nearby. The room was clean, the brealfast was normal for this price, and there are 2 hot tubs, for which they also give bath robes.

Situated in Akureyri, Hotel Akureyri Dynheimar features a bar. Free WiFi is available as well as free parking. All units are equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar and electric kettle. The rooms are as per traditional Scandinavian standards - they are not big, but fit everything you need. We liked that the hotel had a cinema theme and decor, a vertical hydroponic greenhouse. Extra thanks for the vinyl records player in our room. That added a lot of extra vibe to our stay.

This family-run hotel is found along the Ring Road/Route 1, 14 km outside Akureyri. It offers a hot tub, sun terrace and views of Eyjafjördur. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Loved the location, the room, the breakfast and the staff behaviour. The northern lights viewing point, the hot tub, the sauna, the snooker table and the dart board were amazing value add-ons. They had coffee/tea/hot cocoa through the day at their restaurant, and a kitchenette to microwave meals. Highly recommended stay option near Akureyri. Special shoutout to Karl for his warm welcome and hospitality throughout our three night stay.

This hotel is on Akureyri’s main street, Hafnarstraeti, less than 2 km from Akureyri Airport. It offers en-suite guest rooms, free parking and views of the Eyjafjörður fjord. Husavík is 90 km away. Location was prime, we easily walked to the church and all the other cute sights. Room was really nice, we had a room with a view of the water and we had these huge glass windows. Also had a really pleasant experience walking into the hotel. The hotel is decorated well and I immediately started snapping pictures!
