The hotel is lovely, filled with thoughtful details like port waiting in the room for an evening toast. The food in the restaurant is lovely. They even brought gluten free bread to my friend who had told them she couldn’t eat gluten but hadn’t asked for anything special. Manuel checked in with us to be sure we were happy throughout our stay. Lovely!

Located in the heart of historical Portalegre, Rossio Hotel is a themed eco-friendly, design hotel, which features solar panels, UTA units in the rooms and reuses rainwater for several purposes. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Special note to the breakfast service. The quality of breakfast was great, the service was amazing. Very dedicated and organized. Surrounded by the lush forests of the São Mamede Mountains in Portalegre, this former convent is decorated with several historic armours, weapons and antiques. The setting looking out over the hills and the country, swimming pool, close to beautiful places to visit, large suite, and lounge and veranda were lovely to sit in. Aleida was delightful and very helpful .

Situated in 2 small traditional whitewashed houses in Marvão, this charming pousada offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains from its restaurant. Couldn’t ask for better location. Magical place with views far and wide and beyond the Spanish border. Excellent service from a dedicated and welcoming staff. Restaurant host, George is absolutely delightful and genuinely cares about guests having the best experience. Many thanks to everyone at the Pousada for making We felt very much at home and had a wonderful time.

This 3-star hotel is located in Portagem, on the banks of the Sever River, where guests can enjoy a public pool. It has free WiFi and views of the historic village of Marvão. Excellent hotel with a wonderful view of the Marvao castle and overlooking a river. The room was large and comfortable with an excellent shower. We had a veranda and view. The continental breakfast had an option for eggs and there were local sweets to try. The location is good to explore Marvao and the nearby area. Parking was very easy on the street behind the hotel.
