The Hotel Sindbad is located in the heart of Djerba, surrounded by artisan shops and jewellery stores. It has a large exterior courtyard and rooms have an open balcony. very charming place and very close to the souk. I really enjoyed my stay there.

Dar El Bhar is a charming hotel located in Houmt Souk, the main town on Djerba. It has a private beach and offers free Wi-Fi. This hotel was amazing!! It’s right on the beach with cozy beach chairs, a bar and restaurant connected with good food/drinks, and a gorgeous pool. You can bring your breakfast outside to one of the bar’s patio tables to feel the breeze and watch men walk by leading horses and camels. The staff were so lovely - Fatma at reception was incredibly helpful especially considering my language barrier (I don’t speak French/Arabic), and even the cleaning staff were incredibly friendly and always said good morning to me and gave me the biggest smiles. I loved everything about this place. At first I thought I’d need to suck it up and pay for wifi in my room, since it only works in the lobby and courtyard, but I’m glad I didn’t - it was nice to be disconnected from social media for a while!
