Facing the beachfront, 花蓮星晟棧飯店Starry Inn近太平洋新城車站 offers 4-star accommodation in Xincheng and has a garden, shared lounge and terrace. Really near Xincheng TRA, like literally visible from the exit. We booked here cos we wanted to have easy access to buses headed to Taroko for our trails. It's quite a distance from xincheng old street (where most of the eateries are) but you'll find a lot of good food if you're willing to walk (10-15mins) towards the stretch near 7-eleven or family mart. STARRY Inn provides breakfast & they try not to repeat depending on the number of days you stay, do let them know of your food restrictions. Staff were extremely helpful and kind! The lady boss even ran to the train platform to catch us when she found my dad's iPod left in the room after our check out!!! So so thankful for their hospitality and kindness!

The host was very friendly and helpful, providing us with recommendations on places to eat and things to do. He also helped us to book taxis, which is not so accessible in the Hualien area.
