This was a perfect getaway. Brand new property with four charming en suite rooms. Every room had a bathtub with an amazing view, separate rain shower, toilet and double faucets. Laurence is a generous and hospitable host. He cooks breakfast whenever you like and helps you with reservations for restaurants in the area. The view from the property is unbeatable; endless sea view with -when lucky- whales, seals and dolphins right in front of you. Closer than when using a booked tour in the nearby town. The fireplace is perfect for colder days and evenings, the smart TV has Netflix included and there are several spots to chill. The heated plunge pool and jacuzzi are out of this world. The cushions in the custom made deck chairs are suuuuper comfy. It is easy to get in touch with the host when you need anything; he’s a WhatsApp message away.

The place is more spacious and comfortable than the pictures indicate. The kitchen is cozy but has everything you could possibly need. The bed is very comfortable and the outdoor shower is great. The garden is a work of art and a great place to be if the weather is nice. There are beautiful beaches within walking distance and many spectacular mountain hikes nearby. Annette is a wonder host - she is very informative about the area as had many suggestions of what to do in the region. Sol y Sombra is the place to stay when you are in Betty's Bay.
