Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThe kitchen pots & ware were substandard & inadequate, very tacky & unsanitary conditions around the AC unit w/dirty insulation covering falling down; Cigarette butts & ashes in the window frame when I opened the window. Electricity issues in apt., as well as the building itself the day after my arrival. The Elevators shut down for 4 hrs and theere was no AC.

BrazilDuring my stay, I encountered several issues that significantly impacted my experience: The bed sheets were dirty. The air conditioning in the bedroom did not cool the room adequately. The air conditioning in the living room stopped working during my stay. The fan in the living room was not functioning. The water in the bathroom ran out for the last two days of my stay. Towels and toilet paper were limited, and I had to purchase additional toilet paper. There was no soap, shampoo, or conditioner provided. Additionally, our experience was further marred by a homophobic resident of the building who insulted and threatened us. Given these numerous issues, I would never recommend this place to anyone.

AustriaJUST DON’T GO THERE! The Toilet and Sinks are always clogged. The Air-condition in the Rooms are very old and Noisy so it’s hard to sleep. One Air-condition started dripping Watter and the whole Floor in the Room was flooded. Overall, the whole Building is old and run down. If you have a Problem there, the reception isn’t able to help you because you have to contact the owner and you have to wait until the next day. There is no Room service. Next thing: we Paid an Apartment for 4 Persons but we were just three, at one evening one Friend wanted to visit us just for 2 or 3 hours and she was not allowed. We had to Pay 200 Reais at the Reception, that’s ridiculous. I guess the Receptionist kept the money for himself. Even the location of this Building isn’t good, there is nothing nearby. Overall, it was the worst Apartment of my whole trip in Brazil Better spend a little bit more money and take an Apartment or Hotel in Rio Vermelho, it’s a good place there with many Restaurants and bars just by walking.

United StatesThe Apt. lacked proper maintenance with laminate separating from the sliding bedroom door & kitchen & bathroom cabinets.Also found disgusting mold in an espresso coffee pot. Plus the store top was a two burner greasy & dirty old appliance.But the worst thing about the apt. was the property manager who misrepresented properties and breeched his contract with me to extend my stay til the 5th so that I could greet a friend who I had rented another apt. for her from Dec. 3-5. Hope to never deal with this slum lord again. And have cancelled future reservationn with him.
The afrocentric Decor done by the private owner of the Apt., the large patio with patio furniture & the comfortable bed in the one bedroom.The bath was an adequate size with a great rain shower. And the Apt. was well furnished in natural wood furniture that gave it a special ambience for this environmentalist eco builder.

United KingdomUnfortunately the property was a mislead. I decided to get a flat to accommodate my family better instead of getting 2 rooms in a hotel as I travelled with my parents and baby. However it wasn’t the best option. The pictures looked much better than the flat.
The only thing I liked was the location and staff of the Apart Hotel. Unfortunately each flat has a different owner so I couldn’t swap for a better flat.

ThailandRoom is dirty, outdated. I came to check in at 15.30. got the key, but room was not ready. After walking for 1 hour outside, i came back to the room and realized that air conditioner in the room is acting like fan. And this is 36 degrees outside. I talked to hotel staff 3 times asking them to fix it. Nothing was done. By 9 p.m. i was told that nothing can be done today. I booked another hotel and left this garbage dump. There were not blanket on the bed either. I am still waiting for booking.com customer support to get back to me with refund.

After telling the owner of the apartment he told us we need to pay extra for the superior (we booked superior, it was written on the receipt and the confirmation Email). We did because the Sofa for sleeping was very uncomfortable. The new room was better, but the AC in the Living room didn't work. This also wasn't resolved.
