Pretty good value with great staff and good breakfasts

Water pressure in shower. Small TV in room. Otherwise it was quite pleasant, although drivers of luxury German automobiles will find access through the narrow pend to the private car park somewhat 'exciting'

The staff are really attentive, and it was good to see the hotel being invested in with new carpets and extensive decorations Very flexible staff too - they will go out of their way to help Had a room to the back of the building with magnificent views over the hills of the Kirroughtree Forest

Not a complaint - but there was no evening food available. However plenty of choices in the town. The closest being less than 1 minutes walk away. Internet speed could have been faster ...

We were greeted like an old-friend. Smooth, simple, speedy check-in. We asked where we could park the hire-care - on-street, or in the car-park. As we were assured there was no car-crime, we parked outside. No issues what so ever. The room was clean, comfortable - with a lovely view of the hills. Breakfast was very tasty, served nice and early so we could get a good start with our travels.

The breakfast area is very dark, and it’s hard to wake up, we wanted to sit by the window but we weren’t allowed to.

Callum is a great manager very funny and made us feel welcome

Hotel is a bit dated, but to be fair to it, no more so than the rest of Newton Stewart. If you need a good value place to crash for the night, you could do a lot worse

Staff were very helpful, and although the place isn’t Gleneagles, they did their best to accommodate every request we made without any complaint Rooms were very clean, breakfast very good

The evening restaurant wasn’t open but there were places in town where you could eat.

Our two family rooms were adjacent to each other which was great and the breakfast was very good 👍 This was a half way stop for us as we were travelling from the ferry.

Windows in our bedroom were a bit dirty, but of greater concern, opened at the bottom which could pose a risk for a child falling. We did not have children with us, but I don't think children should be in those bedrooms.

Very helpful lad at reception, helping us stow our bikes
