The cost to eat at the restaurant was a bit pricey for a family.

The green room massage neck, shoulder and back massage was excellent! The rooms were lovely and view amazing and peaceful! The staff were friendly and helpful!

Bed was too hard. No Internet service on our first night. Food was too highly priced so we ate out. Towels didn't get changed on our second day. There was an error in our booking and the hotel wanted to charge us an extra £60 to add my wife to the booking which we refused. Cancelled the booking and re booked and got it £10 cheaper than the original price for just one guest.

Breakfast was great. Room was nice. Nice garden. Friendly staff.

The location is not as way to get to if you don have a car. Although it is about a 25 minute walk one is uphill and it’s a better location to dry at with a cat. The Alexander’s pub was disappointing. The small roast was still £10 and came with hardly anything and was really dry. For the prices we assumed it would be a nice setting but felt like a children’s restaurant a little.

The hotel restaurant and Alexander's were on the pricey side vs. many of the local restaurants and didn't have much variety in their menus either leading to us walking into Kendal each evening. Whilst we were happy with the trip into Kendal each day, it would have been more conventional after a long day out in Cumbria to return to the hotel for dinner rather than heading straight back out.

Lovely hotel and grounds with very helpful, attentive staff. Everyone was lovely and would love to visit again. Fantastic breakfast with plenty of choice!

The tables for two were too small. Not enough room on the table. The plates were extreemly small. There was not enough room to serve all the breakfast items . Was this a ploy to restrict the quantity? Not value for money. did not thing the quality of breafast mached the price paid for.

Staff. Very friendly and helfpful. Seating arrangements were nicely laid out. There was enough food. choice of breakfast too.

Room had a lot of noise from a external generator throughout the night then from some one collecting glass outside early on and although requested a late check out the maids were noisy in the corridor early on which made the late check out pointless as couldn’t sleep. No air conditioning and the room was really hot

Although drinks at Alexanders bar were good we found the menu to be uninspiring & the meals we decided on were bland. In the hotel bar we had problems with after dinner liquer coffees & lattes as they were quite cold.However we didnt complain as I think perhaps the young lady was not conversant with the machine, so maybe some training was needed. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent, best of the three hotels we visited that week.Plenty of choice on continental & cooked counters & staff very helpful.

Our room was at the front of hotel overlooking the gorgeous grounds.The balcony was a bonus as the weather was unusually warm for the UK.The reception staff were excellent, friendly yet professional.Room was clean, well thought out in terms of utilising space & quite sound-proof considering the proximity to the road.

I marked down because when staying in/ near Lake District you would hope for a view better than a very dirty wall. I tried to change rooms but was told that all family rooms had this same very depressing view. Not bad if you don’t intend on staying in the room much as the rest of the hotel (and views) were beautiful.

Fabulous location with superb views across Kendal . The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a garden view room which was lovely and very quiet. The evening meal and breakfast was very tasty and lovely. We will be returning!!

Birthday package wasn't worth it. Advertised as prosecco, a balloon and birthday cake but the cake was just a plate with Happy Birthday iced on it and some chocolates. They did get some pieces of cake tho when I asked. I also expected it to be all set up in the room as a surprise when we arrived but only prosecco was there so it was kind of spoiled when I had to go down for the other bits🤣

The food is really pricey, even at their Alexanders pub. To be fair I did enjoy my German style hotdog and fries, though expensive. However my partner had fish and chips, unfortunately the fish was a little bland and chips were rock hard. With such a premium on food you would expect everything to be spot on.
