Nothing!

I don’t think you can’t fault this property and the value for money is exceptional. The fact they have on site parking is a massive plus! They also allow you to park before and after your stay ,so you can still enjoy the area before/after you leave. It’s conveniently located ,5 mins walk into Ambleside town & has bus stop near the property if you haven’t travelled by car (information provided at check in with regards to bus service and gives you a map of the area). Breakfast is phenomenal, lots of choice! It’s a very relaxed atmosphere but also attentive by the hosts. Some of the previous reviews mentioned about the views and potential road noise at the front of the property. We were at the front and yes we didn’t have the views but we were out most of the day anyway. There was very little noise from the roadside, it was peaceful and quiet. We would love to come back and stay at Meadowbank.

This is the only negative about Meadowbank and I feel terrible for writing it. It did stand out though which is why I am! The walls between rooms were very thin and we could hear everything next door.

Very nice and pleasant location with a friendly and knowledgeable host. It was a short walk into Ambleside for local shops and restaurants as it was for local walks too.

Everything was great. The location was maybe a five minute walk from center. The room was big enough for 1 and shower was good. Breakfast was really good. The host was friendly and helpful. The price was a bargain.

We could head out for a good choice of walks straight from the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean, light and airy, thoughtfully set out, and with an excellent bathroom. Gorgeous gardens and views from the breakfast room. Lots of choice for breakfast. Thoughtful hosts!

In general, the room and toilet were very clean, but the shower door could be a little bit cleaner.

Good location and close to main shops, hiking routes and bus stop. The breakfast was good. The size of the room and toilet were good for two people, and the views from the window were nice.

We liked everything.

In a quiet location but just a quick walk away from the town centre ( Ambleside). The owner could not do enough for us and the breakfasts were superb with lots of choice). Thr views from the breakfast room over the fells was amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Despite turning down the heat the room was very hot during the night. The duvet was maybe too warm for the season.

Spaceous, luxurious room with everything we needed. Ensuite with a well-functioning shower. Practical breakfast form to be filled out the night before, delicious breakfast, helpful host. A very nice stay.

Room was comfortable with all the essentials. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice of options. Meadowbank is conveniently located a shortish walk from the centre of town and very near the health centre bus stop. Mike was friendly & helpful and gave me lots of good advice on the local mountain biking routes, as well as providing a place to securely store my bike.

Took a while to fathom how to lock the door when leaving the hotel room, but that was more my own fault as I was informed how to do it!

Allowed to park up before I checked in, so I could go for a walk. Check in very smooth & room was great, more than enough for a solo guest. Breakfast was great & very filling, large selection of what to have (you pre-order the night before). Location was a short stroll back into Ambleside so ideal. I would definitely stay again.

The exterior wasn’t as good as shown on the images

Lovely couple, breakfast really nice good choice of food. Very pleased The outside of the hotel was tired looking and in need of a paint job and tidy up. I was abit concerned when we first pulled up to what the inside was going to be like after seeing the outside but it was far nicer inside than outside.
