Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomYou have to pay £10 extra to check in earlier even if the room is ready.
Second time I stayed here. Literally only used it for sleep but it was clean and comfortable and near the station. Daytime receptionist was friendly and gave me a coffee as I arrived a bit early.

United KingdomThere should have been more places for people to sit down and network during the conferences. Perhaps some tables with chairs or open the cafeteria area/breakfast room. The shower was blocked. The pressure from the shower was very low. The food in the cafeteria/evening meal could have been of better quality. There could have been more staff i.e. one person taking orders, serving food and drinks - cleaning tables, plus arranging the conference room seemed unfair.
Comfortable bed and quiet at night so able to sleep. Not that far from the station.

United KingdomDue to lack of parking had to park in the multi storey car park next door, worried for its safety as it isn’t a very secure place to leave your car and cost £16.50 a day even on Sundays
Staff were very friendly and helpful

United KingdomThe lack of a bedside table, as mentioned earlier.
The room was well appointed, although I would have liked a bedside table, and the bed was comfortable. I enjoyed dinner in the bar and breakfast was excellent.

United KingdomThe staff were rude to me and my partner a couple times at reception or during breakfast service (especially during breakfast service). The food provided in the hotel was sub par and there was a feeling as if the place thought it was a lot nicer than it actually is also I found quite a few hairs and things in drawers the place was cleaned but it wasn't maintained to a high standard
Nice bathroom, great place for a conference where I attended, the vimto fact was cool

United KingdomUnfortunately my room in this hotel was let down by it's poor mattress quality (mine was grim and I slept badly), very hot room with no air con/ a noisy rattling fan and general shabbiness. On the roadside so opening the window was too noisy. It is generally a tired looking room and there are some dubious stains on the carpet and walls ( the walls need washing by the bed) The armchair has cracked and threadbare areas and pillows are poor quality. The hotel has a general air of tiredness about it. There is no night security...my son came in straight off the street at 1 am and went to his equally tired room, and saw no one around and commented he could have wandered the whole hotel. This was a lower priced hotel for a swift nights stay during a long journey, but for just a few pounds more, there are other much better, more comfortable places very close by. I usually book them, and won't stay at the Pendulum again. It's ok, nothing terrible, but there is much better value locally.
The gentleman on reception was warmly welcoming, very friendly, polite and efficient, swiftly changing my room when it became apparent all the lights in mine had failed on arrival. Breakfast was hot, in abundance and the two breakfast staff again very polite and friendly. The bathroom appears fairly recently revamped and was clean and tidy. Shower was great ..no option to borrow a bath mat which isn't great for someone with MS ( I can be wobbly on a slippy surface).

United KingdomIt would be better if there is a socket next to the bed to charge the phone or watches. And a mini fridge would be helpful too.
The location was ideal for me as I had work at the university and the hotel is very close to it. The hotel was well maintained and very clean. And the breakfast was brilliant.

NetherlandsNo AC in the room. We chose a weekend, suprisingly, with a couple of hot days so we really missed an AC but it was also a choice we made ourself. Because of this reason we were also slightly disapointed that the window could only open for like 10cm.
Staff were friendly. Location was still within a 15 minutes walk from the city centre. Breakfast was small but still enough choice to not leave with an empty stomach. We pre-paid breakfast when booking the room and on an early day they even made us breakfast-to-go when we asked the night before!

IrelandDidn't like the window of my room was facing to a kind of park. It supposed to be on the 3th floor of the building however the 3th floor was at the same level as the street! There were some people in front of my window shouting at somebody that was on the 4th floor! Didn't feel comfortable, people could see me from outside! On the other hand some members of the staff were fighting during the Breakfast service, it wasn't nice!
It's very close to Manchester Piccadilly Station and City Center.
